AVOID THIS HOSTEL — SCAM
They cancelled our 5-night booking ONE WEEK before arrival, with no explanation and no alternative offered. We've sent 5 emails over more than a week and received ZERO response. No communication, no management, no professionalism whatsoever.
If they cancel like this out of nowhere and then disappear, imagine what happens if something goes wrong during your actual stay. We've had to file a bank chargeback to get our money back because the hostel won't even reply.
Avoid booking here if you value a place that responds when something goes wrong.

Nice place
I liked the ambiance at the bar, the staff and the position that its really close to the pier and the beach. The shower had a bad angle and one toilet could not close the door. A towel is available free. there are lockers if you have a lock. I would come back!

Warm smiles and welcoming vibes at Echo Beach Hostel
I'm still grinning from ear to ear as I write this review of my incredible stay at Echo Beach Hostel on the stunning island of Koh Phangan, Thailand.
From the moment I arrived, I felt like I was part of the Echo Beach family. The staff were friendly and helpful, showing me to my cozy dorm room with its comfy bed, aircon and privacy curtains. The dorm and modern bathrooms were cleaned regularly and, I slept well, but what really made my stay special was the sense of community at Echo Beach. I was a lot older than the majority of guests at the hostel however this did not stop me from enjoying everything this hostel had to offer. I spent 3 weeks here and got to know the owners, staff and volunteers who really did make this place special. I felt welcome right from the start and the friendly vibes from everyone are everywhere. The hostel has a gorgeous communal area with a bar and DJ area, pool table and restaurant as well as a beach area to soak up the sun . I met some amazing fellow travellers over a cold beer and we shared stories, laughed, danced and partied together. The location of the hostel is perfect, right on the beach, and walking distance to some great bars and nightlife. The island itself is a tropical paradise, with jungles, waterfalls, and beaches to explore.
If you're looking for a laid-back, friendly, and affordable place to stay on Koh Phangan, look no further than Echo Beach Hostel. I'd highly recommend it to solo travellers, couples, and groups of friends alike. Can't wait to return!
