Wellness in Upper Bavaria
Once again, our family met for a round birthday in the Peace Oak in Benediktbeuern – partly for four days.
Already at the reception we are greeted by a radiant face with open eyes and soothing language: this is Junior Chef Julia. The espresso is served by Sebastian, the junior chef – unmistakably the second offspring of Senior Chef Elisabeth and Senior Chef Stefan Ressl.
The four balcony rooms on the south side are tastefully and pleasantly designed. From there you can see the Benedictine wall, which with its wide “hump” towers over the newly covered, mighty building – formerly part of the monastery estate “Houses”.
For the festive evening they all come in: from Munich and the surrounding area, a real multigenerational round. Chef Elisabeth serves a refreshing glass on the terrace – warm and attentive as usual.
The banquet hall convinces even on hot tropical climates (up to 35 °C) with a pleasant indoor climate – thanks to the open side walls. The food and drink menu offers a reasonable, down-to-earth selection – without unnecessary frills. The service staff are attentive, friendly and persistent.
Later, the parking lot gradually empties, and we hotel guests enjoy the tranquility in front of the house – above Benediktbeuern, at the foot of the impressive Benedictine wall.
The rich breakfast is adapted to the style of the house: Portions are served in small alarm jars – a proven solution in good homes since the Corona era. Here, too, we encounter attentive, expert staff.
Of course, there is talk of the energy crisis, a shortage of staff, bureaucracy everywhere – but there was no sign of it in the oak tree of peace. I am all the more surprised at some critical reviews. Is the Aldi water really worse?
My conclusion:
Feeling good in Upper Bavaria is possible – thanks to the dedicated efforts of a host family in which everyone takes their place with heart and dedication. I sincerely wish you a successful future!

My husband and I felt completely comfortable in the days and will certainly come back.
Breakfast very welcoming, we were looking forward to it every morning.
And the menu - extremely delicious -.
