Pleasant stay

Two night stay in room 4.
Room - new bathroom, spotlessly clean. Comfy double bed with decent pillows. Tea facilities and heating in the room which can be adjusted to suit. No complaints, had everything we needed.
Pub - Decent pub downstairs. Separate restaurant. All staff we encountered were friendly and happy to help.
Be aware at weekends, the noise from the pub below is loud until midnight. We expected this and nothing to moan about as its a busy pub!
Food - one of the best breakfasts we have ever had whilst staying away. We also had a meal on Friday, pork belly was beautiful! Well done cook team!
Location - Easy to walk through the well lit park to get to the bars etc. We walked to Abraham Heights with ease and got a £6 uber back.
Lovely little place and we'll be coming back in the Summer. Would recommend for a little weekend away.

Excellent

Excellent meal. I had the steak and ale pie and it was so well filled with a lovely thin pastry and fat fluffy crispy chips. Gorgeous. Husband had the salmon which he said was excellent. Well priced too. Great beer selection

We had a good stay at the Red Lion. The room was adequate for our needs. Clean and quiet. However we did book a luxury room and I think that description was pushing it as it was very basic. The pub was very close to the centre, easily walkable. Very busy pub at times which we liked and staff were very friendly and efficient. Free parking. We would recommend.

A great room, tucked away.

A great little Bnb with a lovely little pub.
The rooms are above a pub, so if you're expecting it to be dead silent, you'll be disappointed. Having said that, the noise (the little there was), didn't disturb us at all.
The room was lovely, a brilliant shower and plenty of room to get about. A little car park at the rear of the place - top tip, do NOT put the pub as the destination on your sat nav...
A short walk into the town centre, with a bit of stuff going on. A few bars and shops - lots of excellent charity shops and antique style places.
Breakfast was nice in the morning - however a relatively short window to get it in - no major issue though. I suppose you can get it room only - so you walk into town?
Worth the money and would stay there again. Really friendly people and a nice atmosphere in the pub of an evening.

The Red Lion

This is a fabulous place to stay. The staff were helpful and polite, and the food was superb. The room had a four poster bed and it was exceptionally clean. The en-suite was amazing and roomy with plenty of hot water. Myself and my partner would most definitely stay again. Thank you Red Lion for a wonderful stay
