Excellent days in Zinal
Great location in the middle of the village, with a beautiful view during a fine breakfast and delicious dinner, very friendly staff, would come back anytime.

Beautiful discovery
Excellent value for money! We stayed in the Loft, extremely spacious and comfortable although the decor and bathroom deserve a little refreshment. Special mention to cooks: the half board formula is exceptional. Very nice and friendly staff.

Weekend in Zinal
The value for money is not there at all. The temperature in the room did not exceed 18 degrees, the bedding is below everything, the carpet is disgusting... what more to say; we will not go back unless complete renovation of the rooms.
The staff was very friendly, but did not even ask us if we liked the stay...

This could not have been better.
Hotel Besso is an outstanding place to stay. This perfect combination of old-world European and renovated modern decor is the ideal complement to the gorgeous town of Zinal. The rooms are bright and airy with views in every direction. Checking in was a breeze. Breakfast was the perfect start. I will be back to Zinal and I will stay at Besso.

Exceptional kindness, lovely place and superior breakfast!!!
A truly exceptional stay
Our group of eight Canadian hikers stayed at Le Besso during our trek on the Walker's Haute Route, and our experience was truly outstanding. Six of us, including myself, stayed in the loft, which was clean, well-maintained, and had a romantic, unique, and lovely feel. The Service was excellent, and the breakfast was great—it was one of the best we had on the entire hike. All of this would easily earn a 5-star rating, but it was the exceptional care from the staff that motivated me to write this review.
First, when heavy rain disrupted our plans, the gentleman working in the cafe—likely the owner or manager—went above and beyond to help. He advised us on how to avoid dangerous sections of the trail, helped us arrange a taxi, and provided clear directions for public transportation.
Second, when we asked if breakfast could be served a little earlier to help us stay on schedule, he listened to our request and accommodated us.
Finally, and most importantly, I realized I had left my down jacket in the loft after we had already moved on. I contacted the staff, and they immediately agreed to look for it. After they found it, they promptly mailed it to my hostel in Geneva so I could receive it before leaving the country. Honestly, I didn't expect to see it again, so when the package arrived, I was incredibly touched. It was the perfect ending to my trip in Switzerland.
Thank you, Le Besso, for your exceptional service and for adding such a wonderful memory to my trip. I highly recommend this place.

Notre groupe de huit randonneurs canadiens a séjourné au Besso lors de notre trek sur la Haute Route de Walker, et notre expérience a été vraiment remarquable. Six d'entre nous, dont moi-même, avons logé dans le grenier, qui était propre, bien entretenu et dégageait une atmosphère romantique, unique et charming. Le Service était excellent et le petit-déjeuner délicieux — c'était l'un des meilleurs que nous ayons eu de toute la randonnée. Tout cela aurait facilement mérité une note de 5 étoiles, mais c'est l'attention exceptionnelle du personnel qui m'a poussé à rédiger cet avis.
D'abord, quand de fortes pluies ont bouleversé nos plans, le monsieur qui travaillait au café — probablement le propriétaire ou le gérant — s'est surpassé pour nous aider. Il nous a conseillé sur la façon d'éviter les sections dangereuses du sentier, nous a aidés à organiser un taxi et nous a donné des indications claires pour utiliser les transports en commun.
Ensuite, quand nous avons demandé si le petit-déjeuner pouvait être servi un peu plus tôt pour nous aider à respecter notre emploi du temps, il a écouté notre demande et a répondu favorablement.
Enfin, et c'est le plus important, j'ai réalisé que j'avais oublié ma doudoune dans le grenier après notre départ. J'ai contacté le personnel, et ils ont tout de suite accepté de la chercher. Une fois trouvée, ils l'ont rapidement postée à mon auberge de jeunesse à Genève pour que je puisse la récupérer avant de quitter le pays. Honnêtement, je ne m'attendais pas à la revoir, alors quand le colis est arrivé, j'ai été incroyablement touché. Ce fut la fin parfaite de mon voyage en Suisse.

Todo esto le daría fácilmente una calificación de 5 estrellas, pero fue la atención excepcional del personal lo que me motivó a escribir esta reseña.
Primero, cuando la fuerte lluvia interrumpió nuestros planes, el caballero que trabajaba en la cafetería, probablemente el dueño o gerente, se desvivió por ayudarnos. Nos aconsejó cómo evitar secciones peligrosas del sendero, nos ayudó a conseguir un taxi y nos dio indicaciones claras para usar el transporte público.
En segundo lugar, cuando preguntamos si el desayuno podría servirse un poco antes para ayudarnos a mantenernos en el horario previsto, escuchó nuestra petición y nos complació.
Finalments, y lo más importante, me di cuenta de que había dejado mi chaqueta de plumas en el desván después de que ya nos habíamos ido. Me puse en contacto con el personal e inmediatamente aceptaron buscarla. Después de encontrarla, me la enviaron rápidamente a mi albergue en Ginebra para que pudiera recibirla antes de salir del país. Honestamente, no esperaba volver a verla, así que cuando llegó el paquete, me emocioné increíblemente. Fue el final perfecto para mi viaje en Suiza.

Finally, and most importantly, I noticed that I had left my down jacket in the attic after we had already moved on. I contacted the staff, and they immediately agreed to look for it. After finding them, they immediately sent them to my hostel in Geneva so I could receive them before I left the country. Honestly, I didn't have much hope of seeing her again, so I was incredibly moved when the package arrived. It was the perfect end to my trip in Switzerland.
