If Zernez, then Hotel Selva!

Planned as a short stay to visit family members. But on the second day, we decided to spontaneously stay one day longer.
The welcome upon arrival was already so warm, as if we had been here many times before. The room was facing the Ofenpass road (absolutely okay for a last-minute reservation), but it is no problem at all, since almost no traffic goes over the pass at night. The room was renovated and the bathroom brand new, furnished in a super practical way, and everything was sparkling clean.
The dinner tasted extremely good and the portions were very large, at very reasonable prices. Breakfast wonderful with fresh fruits and homemade jams.
The hotel team seemed like a big family, in which everyone helps everyone else and you get the feeling of being a guest at an acquaintance's home. We will go back to the Selva when we stay in Zernez, no question.

Unkind, cheeky!

On a Sunday afternoon I wanted to go out for dinner with my three children (7, 9 and 12) at the Silva pizzeria. I went in to see if there was still a free table. The waiter answered yes to my question, so I brought the children in. When the waiter wanted to lead us to the table, a waitress came to him who said to him in Italian "Ah, but these are just children, what if someone else comes and wants to take the table". To which I replied "thank you very much, we don't feel welcome" and left. It's a shame that tomorrow's customers have no value in their restaurant. Hotel Pizzeria Selva - never again!

Not recommended for eating

Were just for dinner at the pizzeria. The children had pasta carbonara, which in reality was probably more ham and cream sauce, but hardly edible. Partly because it also contained raw garlic. The pizza was lampy and well below average. Overall, there is no passion for cooking here. Maybe the chef should find another profession that he enjoys more.

Central location in lower Engadine with easy access to National Park and hiking

Decent stay. Average quality and somewhat outdated. Room was fine with a nice bathroom; restaurant and breakfast buffet are ok too. Main drawback to our room (located towards the street) was some road noise at night. For motorised guests, location is good to get off to an early start to explore the region. If you rely on public transport it is a bit of a walk though from the station. Situated close to the National Park museum, which is HIGHLY recommended.
A pass for public transport in the region is included with multi night stays.

It’s a good no-frills property for the cost, located near the Swiss National Park and offering a regional guest card with a quite large transit catchment area. Everything was clean and worked well.
