Stunning

In an 8 week long trip, this was hands down the best place we stayed in. A beautiful residence in a charming medieval village. The hosts are so helpful, intuitive and generally delightful and you'll be amazed at how well appointed the place is and how much of it comprises common rooms.
The perfect place to break up a drive across northern Spain.

EXCELLENT in every way

This was our second stay at this SUPERB very high class bed and breakfast. We received a very friendly and warm welcome from our hosts who were so very helpful. We highly recommend to everyone. A beautifully and very tastefully restored historic property in an area of outstanding beauty. Thank you for making us so welcome once again. We will be returning!

Elegant and luxurious place

We booked this hotel totally random and were most pleasantly surprised. This might be actually be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Arriving there was also a bit of a surprise, we had no idea the hotel was situated in such old and beautiful surroundings. It felt like stepping back in time, with all the modern comforts. Because indeed the hotel's interior design was modern but also stunning and suited the place well. The couple hosting the place was also very warm and welcoming, with many helpful hints. They both speak English, which was a great help. Breakfast was also very delicious. My only regret is that we couldn't stay for more than one night!

Lovely hotel, lovely people, lovely place

Enchanting from start to finish. We arrived in Sos on an unseasonally cold and grey May day, but the moment we walked through the door of el Sueño de Virila, it felt as if the sun had come out. The hotel is a delight, a wonderful combination of solid, historic masonry and light, transparent, modern furnishings. Our room, on the ground floor, was large and airy, with access to the garden/courtyard area, which unfortunately we were not able to use due to poor weather. Good heating, comfortable bed, and small but nice bathroom. If you are coming by car, make sure to get the hotel’s map, and to request parking space in advance: Sos is small, and not designed for cars, but with the map in hand, you will have no problems. Javier and Farnés, who own and run the hotel, are a delight, and happy to go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay in their hotel and their adopted town. Highly recommended.

Extraordinary Hotel

We stayed four nights in this gem of a hotel. My husband and I felt like we were living in a castle, yet the furnishings were extremely modern, luxurious, and comfortable. The owners truly care about their guests' experience and without being intrusive are glad to offer to travel hints and as much assistance as needed. Breakfast each morning was ample and we enjoyed reading and getting on Internet in the living areas on three different floors. We have traveled all over the world and have stayed in many different types of accommodations and this is truly fantastic!
My only suggestion would be for the town of Sos to label the location of El Sueno de Virila more clearly.
