I still haven't found a better place to stay than this one.

The place is an earthly paradise and every detail is taken care of. Emilio's treatment is unbeatable. I've been going to La Llosa for decades and I only have good things to say. It is impossible not to love the place, but especially its owners. What a shame that there are people who still don't know this place.

A beautiful stay in Cantabria Infinita

We know Castro very well, as we have lived there for 3 years, and we are super happy for choosing Llosa de Samano for our one week stay. Beautiful place, super clean, very quiet, easy to reach and park, in proximity of nature, parks for kids and a restaurant. The host and his daughter were very sweet making sure we have everything we needed and I would choose this place for a future stay above any hotel as the experience is very personal and warm. Marvelous

We are a young couple who have not yet had the opportunity to travel as much as we would like, yet we can say that it is one of the best accommodations we have been to, if not the best.
We have always had a very close relationship, concerned about our well-being since we arrived.
If one day we can return north to the area, we will definitely stay with them again.
Beautiful place and family treatment 10/10.

It is a BEAUTIFUL place to stay!!

We checked in last night, arrived a bit later than we expected, but we were greeted so graciously by Emilio. We speak very little English but he was so sweet in how he tried to describe everything for us, from the parking of our car, the operation of the gate, the keys to the gate and doors, and the breakfast hours for the morning. The entire place is immaculate, and so well decorated.
We were so delighted when we opened the window in our room, as the sun had just set, and we had a flock of sheep grazing in the field out back. It was so peaceful and beautiful! The mountains in the background were also great to see!
The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. It is obvious they take great care to make sure everything is just right! It was such a nice change to be in such a quaint and unique place. It was exactly what we needed during our trip to the Basque Country!
Since our Spanish is not the best, we have used Google Translate to help communicate with Emilio and he has been great in trying to understand what we are asking, and to make sure we feel comfortable and welcome. He makes you feel like you are truly being welcomed into his home.
We still have one more night here, and are so glad we chose La Llosa for our stay near Bilbao!
Thank you to you, Emilio, and to the rest of your staff (or family) at La Llosa! You have a beautiful home and we appreciate you sharing it with us! If we are ever in the part of the world again, it would be a pleasure to see you again, and stay in your lovely home!

Muchas gracias, Jin y Terri, por esta reseña que publicáis en Tripadvisor. Os recordamos con afecto y simpatía, pues fuisteis unos huéspedes muy amables. La comunicación entre nosotros fue fluida a pesar de no conocer el idioma.
Nos hemos quedado muy contentos de conocer que vuestra estancia en La LLosa de Sámano fue muy agradable.
Si alguna vez volvierais por aquí, os recibiríamos con la calidez de quien espera a unos amigos.
Desde estas tierras verdes de Cantabria os mandamos para Estados Unidos un abrazo muy fuerte.

May 2022 Motorbike Trip Loved it

The plan to avoid Bilbao and AP's failed, but once on the road, surf beaches and found this lovely place. Easy to find, parking inside gates or garage. Good Check In, little English, Poco Espanyol and some French, got by.
Nice Breakfasts. Nice Little Bar across the Car Park. ATM there too.
Easy ride into Castro, if you like. I preferred the country roads around the village.
A very nice couple and a lovely quirky place. Recommended.
