For future visits, our private, secure garage has direct lift access to reception. If the ramp feels tight, reception is happy to guide you through the circulation, or you can park once and make the most of the bus stop at our door or the easy 10-minute walk to the Old Town. While we are outside the city center, many guests appreciate the calm setting with straightforward connections to Bilbao’s main sights.
We are also glad breakfast set you up for the day. Beyond the classics, there are vegan, gluten-free and lighter choices made with fresh ingredients so everyone in the family can find something that suits them. Proof That Great Staff Can Make a Hote
And then we met the staff.
It’s amazing how quickly wonderful people can completely change your experience of a hotel. Sandra was an absolute ray of sunshine—endlessly enthusiastic, warm and ready to help with absolutely anything. She helped us choose pinxtos spots, navigate a festival, and even find a laundromat (hotel laundry is way too expensive). Every question was met with a smile and a genuine “can-do” attitude.
Tatiana at the front desk couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful either. Between the two of them, any reservations I had when we arrived quickly disappeared.
By the time we left, my opinion of the Spirit Hotel had completely changed. Turns out the location was only a 15 minute walk from old town. It was a great reminder that a hotel ‘s rooms or location are just part of the picture—it’s about the staff who truly make your stay special. Spirit Hotel is truly defined by the wonderful people who work there, and Sandra and Tatiana made our stay.

Perfect breakfast, friendly staff, nice complimentary extra's, but noisy and expensive.
On the other hand, the rooms are not soundproof. We got a room next to the elevator which made noise the entire night. Also, you hear everything grom the rooms next door and the corridor.
The rooms itself are big but basic. Nothing special.
Spirit Hotel is a well-oiled marketing and upselling machine. The premium pricing is not followed by the standard of the rooms, even while the breakfast is very good, staff friendly and some elements are top-notch. I would recommend to focus on the priority 1 first: which is making sure that guests are able to sleep well.
