Attractive authentic hotel
The stay is fine, but with some small adjustments it can really be even more pleasant. At the moment it sometimes feels a bit more like a hostel.
For hotel guests there is no separate room to relax (outside the breakfast room). When the restaurant is full and that’s soon, since it opens at 5pm, you have to rely on the bar, your room or swerve outside the hotel.
It would be a nice improvement to create a cozy lounge area, for example by the fireplace or in the front, where hotel guests can eat something small and have a drink. It would be nice to keep this place exclusively for hotel guests.
Breakfast, although as mentioned self-service, now really has a hostel feel. The authentic cuisine in grandmother's style does give a warm atmosphere, as if you were eating at grandpa and grandma's. With a few small adjustments, this can be even more pleasant. For example, replace the Senseo with a Nespresso machine for better coffee quality. It would also be nicer not to store the filling in the fridge, but to present it in a small refrigerated display case on the counter. This way guests can easily grab something themselves, without having to remove an entire bowl from the fridge. This can therefore be offered, for example, tomato and cucumber. There is already a fully automatic bean machine on top of the landing at the rooms; perhaps it can be exchanged, or the Senseo can go up and a better (nespresso) machine down.
Maybe these points are already on the planning for the future, because it is precisely these kinds of small adjustments that can make a big difference.

Cozy restaurant with large menu and delicious food. As far as we are concerned, highly recommended!
Restaurant is cozy, reminiscent of a living room.
Service is attentive and friendly.
They have a large menu with something for everyone.
We ate here with a group of 6.
Almost all ate something different and everyone was more than satisfied.
Food was good and fresh and well prepared.
Portions are generous.
Service was friendly and attentive.
We will definitely come back again when we are around again!

Serious setback!
That breakfast is self-service, so far, but the room lacks all Mood and is insufficiently lit, and no one from the staff is present either.
We have also done the stupidity of eating here for one evening: do we have to pay 78 euros (3 main courses + 3 drinks) for such hospital food ??? The food is heavy and lacks all sophistication, the evening after that we ate much better in Egmond aan Zee for about the same price and in a much more pleasant interior. The explanation on the website that "our restaurant has been known for decades for its friendly and homely ambiance" is nonsense, in the 70s this restaurant was probably top, but that is long gone.
