An incredible riad experience! And don't skip their chicken tagine w/ lemon & olives!
This review is WAY overdue - we actually stayed at the riad in January 2023. But I was recently speaking with a friend who will be traveling to Marrakech and I kept raving about how amazing our stay at Riad El Zohar was. We loved the location (in the heart of the medina), the staff was lovely, and Allan (the proprietor) was incredibly helpful throughout (and after) our stay! We also had our favorite meal of our entire Morocco trip at the riad. They make the best chicken tagine with preserved lemon and olives! We ate this dish several times at various restaurants during our 2-week stay in Morocco, and the El Zohar version was the best - hands down, no comparison. It was so good that we came back to the riad later on in our Morocco trip (after we were no longer guests there) to reserve a cooking class with Khadija (their chef) to learn how to make their chicken tagine dish. It tasted just as good the second time!
I have so many great memories of our stay there and by reading the other reviews, the rest of their guests feel the same way. If you're planning to visit Marrakech, do yourself a favor and book this riad! And don't forget to plan a dinner on the rooftop terrace with the chicken tagine!

What a wonderful stay!
accommodation in the heart of the
busy Medina for 7 nights. It is a calm,
welcoming oasis. Allan and Malike
are super-hosts, professionally
supported by efficient, friendly,
attentive and helpful staff. We were
there during Ramadan, but they
were still there for us, on hand for
coffees and teas (or ice cubes!). 2
in-house chefs prepare meals on
request and the food is excellent.
The beautiful plunge pool in the
former courtyard was unfortunately
still too cold for us. But we did enjoy
sitting on the comfortable roof
terrace.
Allan is a mine of information and is
happy to share his stories with his
guests.
We hope to return soon

Wonderful stay in a beautiful Riad
The Riad itself is beautiful & very well situated in the centre of everything. It is a calming oasis amongst the hustle & bustle of the city. Our room was lovely with an amazing bathroom. The breakfast is very good & there is a constant supply of tea, coffee & mint tea if you want it anytime. There is also a beautiful roof terrace you can enjoy.
If you book this Riad you will not be disappointed. We had a wonderful 3 nights stay here & would definitely return.
