Back for a second stay!
I stayed here a couple of years ago and loved it. So I'm back. Nothing seems to have changed: It's still friendly, colorful flowers and flags, great views over the city center from the rooftop terrace, and good prices. It's on a quiet street -- except for the neighborhood dogs, which are a "feature" of a lot of accommodations in Mexico.
There are lots of taxis down a steep set of stairs on Calle Jose Lopez Alvarez, and a cab you get in the city center will take you directly here. But I suggest walking! Rio Grijalva is a quiet street too; one block is steep and the rest is gradual. It takes me 20-30 minutes to reach the city center; there are a number of different streets you can walk for variety. You can buy water at the Oxxo store a few blocks away on Jesus. This is in the Xochimilco neighborhood, so it's pretty and there's lots of public art; the arches of the old aqueduct are a few blocks away.
As far as I know, almost no English is spoken here. But the staff are all friendly and helpful. My room was spotless, though sometimes I saw tiny ants... the staff offered to spray insecticide, but the ants are harmless (unless you leave food out, I guess).
I stayed here for two weeks. It came to feel like home! During January, it was not crowded; I hardly ever saw anyone except staff. Unless I'm in Oaxaca longer in the future -- and rent an apartment instead -- I'll be back.

Hotel with excellent views of the city!
This hotel offers beautiful views, very clean accommodations and exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful service. I loved staying there.
While it is not located in the center of town, it is a pleasant walking distance to restaurants, galleries, parks, museums and other tourist attractions.

No volveremos
El día 28 de diciembre estuvimos ahi solo a pasar la noche para el 29 seguir nuestro camino a la CDMX. Llegamos alrededor de las 7 pm, había una señorita y preguntamos si había estacionamiento disponible y nos dijeron que si, solo que esperáramos un poco para que llegara la persona que acomodaría los carros y así entrará nuestra camioneta. Queríamos ir a cenar al centro de Oaxaca no había llegado el enaargado, volví a preguntar pero si hay posibilidad de guardarla? La respuesta fue si. Ok seguimos esperando, hacia las 11. 40 pm nos volvimos a asomar por la ventana y la camioneta seguía afuera, así que baje a preguntar y ya estaba un señor que según se llama "Javier" y le pregunté a lo cual me respondió que no la iban a guardar porque no había lugar. Le dije : pero cuando llegamos, nos ofrecieron ese servicio y la cuota se pagó completa por todo lo que nos ofrecieron, entre ellos el estacionamiento, además de que yo ya había preguntado varias veces y en todas me decían que si la iban a guardar. El señor me dijo: que no, que había clientes que llegaron antes que nosotros y que les daban preferencia a ellos. Le dije que Yo puedo entender eso pero no que no nos lo hubieran dicho desde que llegamos... Me dijo que si no estábamos conformes nos devolvía nuestro dinero y nos fuéramos, casi a las 12 pm. Fue una grosería, porque a nosotros nos ofrecieron el servicio de estacionamiento todo el tiempo. No regresaremos, ni recomendaremos ese lugar.

Excelente Hotel
Muy buen hotel, el servicio excelente y muy agradable, la ubicación es muy buena cerca de la central de autobuses y del centro, la habitación muy limpia, las personas que atienden son muy amables y te dan un mapa de la ciudad para que organices tu viaje.

Muy a gusto
Lugar cómodo, ubicado en una zona silenciosa y sobre todo limpio que es lo que busco definitivamente cuando salgo de viaje. El lugar está relativamente cerca del centro pero bien ubicado. Las habitaciones son amplias y cuentan con lo básico para poder tener un descanso agradable. Cuenta con estacionamiento propio, el la velocidad de la internet fue satisfactorio y siempre tuve agua caliente en la ducha. Creo que es justo el precio qie se paga por el sitio.
