A good 3 star hotel in a great location.

R Inn Ayabe has a new name, it is now called "The Station Hotel, Ayabe". The interior hasn't changed at all. My wife and I stayed here in May 2025, while visiting family. This time, we ate breakfast in the hotel and were pleasantly surprised by the food on offer. Additionally there is a really good restaurant near the hotel entrance which has a great variety of food on offer. My wife loved the Japanese items and I could find some good western food items on the buffet, to fill me up including eggs, butter and toast, jam and milk tea or coffee. It was worth the small cost, to have breakfast sorted, each morning. We tried it on one occasion and were very happy with meal and drinks. The bathroom is quite compact but has all the necessary items including a good bath and a never ending supply of hot water in the shower. We didn't smell smoke in the room this time or hear any noise from adjoining rooms. The beds were comfortable and the room had good lighting. We had a fairly quiet room away from the station. In the day time, you could here the beep of nearby traffic light signals, but they stopped late at night. If you are looking for clean place to sleep and travel around the area, this is a pretty good place to stay. It is our third stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Pleasant accommodation with great views

My wife and I stayed for 1 night. We were visiting family in a nearby town and had stayed on one previous occasion, some years ago. Two single rooms had been booked for us, but we wanted to share a room and the only room available was a deluxe twin on the top floor overlooking the railway station (Room 602). I would say it is the best room in the hotel. The views of the surrounding township were amazing as was the view of the station and especially the many trains that passed by. I really loved the trains. The room was clean, there wasn't any unbearable noises, and the beds were comfortable. The gifts offered at reception were also quite useful, as was the bottled water. The carpet was worn and was stained from age, not pretty to look at though. The smell of the curtains that I slept beside had a faint odour of smoke, and it was a not smoking room. The small shower room was adequate, and the water was hot, and I enjoyed some nice showers. We weren't aware that breakfast was available, so we had bought some breakfast items at a nearby shop, on the previous night. The breakfast offer seemed like excellent value for money. On the morning of our departure, we walked around the town a little before travelling on a train to our relative's property. We enjoyed our stay, and a short stay here is highly recommended.

Very clean and comfortable

I stayed just one night there during my northern Kyoto trip.
It's just 3 min walk from Ayabe JR station where all express trains stop. The hotel seems newly built and all facilities are maintained clean.
Micro/mini USB and iphone dock chargers are installed in every room and free for use.
It's location is convenient for train ride but there are no eating place nearby except one restaurants in the hotel itself. However you can find 24Hr open Familymart convenience store on south side of JR station. Also east of the hotel, there is McDonald's eatery in big shopping center.
During mu stay, I've enjoyed Onsen (Natural hot spring) public bath which is located just across the station.

基本的には十分満足できるホテルです！
アクセスも良く、近くに図書館もあり快適です、
清潔面では壁やカーテンにホコリが目立ちます💦
あと、WiFiが繋がりにくい部屋や時間があり、パソコンが全くつかえなくなることがありました💦
フロントの方も比較的話しやすく、外国人スタッフの方の対応がとてもいいです✨️
