Excellent B&B

We were in Killarney for the weekend and stayed in this absolutely lovely B&B as a family. The manager was so welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed for a positive experience. The B&B is ideally located close to the Killorglin village and a short drive from Killarney town. Highly recommend and we’ll be back again.

A Fabulous Little B&B

We had a wonderful few days staying at Grove Lodge. The rooms were so comfortable, and the staff were fabulous. Aoibhe in particular was kind, helpful, and so welcoming. Would strongly recommend!

Beyond Excellence.

I was in the area on business this week and decided to stay in this beautiful little gem of a lodge . The room with a view of the river and the nicest bed I have ever slept in was spotless. On leaving I met with the Manageress her knowledge of the area and breakfast recommendation was excellent!
Thank you and I can’t wait for my next visit to your amazing place!

A lovely place to stay

This was the best appointed hotel room we have EVER stayed in with absolute top marks for quality of the furnishings, rugs, bedlinen, lovely pillows and duvet, good provision of hanging space, drawer space and surface space for putting things down both in bedroom and bathroom. How often is there nowhere to put anything in the bathroom? How often is there no drawer space provided or no hanging space? How often is the room lovely but the lighting inadequate? How often is there only one chair - Grove Lodge provided three! The lighting was good, the only harsh feature being two nasty blue-white bulbs in two globe lights over the desk - I mentioned this so hope it has been changed. The other lights were warm tone bulbs.
The only things which could be faulted were the television where we could not find any sensible channels (a previous review under previous management mentions international channels - one to reinstate?)
Have also suggested a second mirror for the benefit of the person the window side of the bed and replacing the pictures with those which reflect the local area.
There is a hospitality station near the entrance hall (others throughout the building, possibly, but we were in a ground floor room) where one can make tea and coffee, with these plus milk and biscuits provided, and there is a fridge provided for guests' own food. Also bottles of cold water.
I notice no-one has submitted a review since the property changed hands and it sounds an absolute idyll under Fergus and Delia. Sadly the new management do not provide a cooked breakfast. There is ample, fruit, cereal, yogurt, bread and a temperamental toaster but the breakfast room was not set up in a welcoming way. I hope they will address this.
Check-in was automised with key safes. All worked well but the personal touch was missing.
We walked into town. Yes there is an issue with no sidewalk for 100 metres or so but as we were there at the lightest time of year this was not a problem but would certainly not want to be doing this in the dark. But so annoying if this has been an issue raised with the council for years.
We stayed five nights so were able to sample various restaurants and recommend Bianconi, Bunkers (long walk to the top of the town) and Sethu Curry House but it's bring your own drink.
Grove Lodge is ann excellent base for exploring the area and the iconic Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula, Killarney National Park. Killarney itself is a vibrant, buzzing town and we had dinner there one evening.
In summary: an excellent place to stay and I hope that the new management is able to reinstate Grove Lodge to its former glory.

Beautiful B&B by the river and such a memorable experience!

We stayed here for two nights with our two years old daughter last week. Our little girl absolutely loved the entire house, the lovely host Delia and their dog Oscar, so did we! The house is so beautifully designed inside and outside, located right by the river. Our room was so cute and quiet with the river view from our window. The owners are kind and they make sure you enjoy your stay! They also have such a good taste to decorate the house in a lively, vibrant way. See the pictures attached. The breakfast was very fresh and included various local products. Delia was very helpful and friendly during our entire stay. I would totally stay there again if we visit this part of Ireland again!
