Akrathos beach review
We’ve just returned from Akrathos Beach Hotel in Halkidiki and overall had a really relaxing and peaceful holiday.
The rooms are lovely, clean and comfortable, and if you’re lucky enough to have a room with a sea view, the sunsets are absolutely outstanding. Sitting and watching the sun go down over the sea was definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
The location and views are beautiful. The beach is lovely, with clear water and a really relaxing atmosphere. The standard sun loungers and umbrellas are included, although there are some premium/front-row beds that you can pay extra for. The beach bar was great, and drinks such as beer and soft drinks are included with the all-inclusive package, although food from the beach bar is extra.
We particularly enjoyed the pool. It’s absolutely stunning with fantastic views, but one thing to be aware of is that the main pool is 1.7m deep throughout, so you can’t stand up in it if you’re shorter. There are steps in and out, and there is also a separate children’s pool.
The food was okay for us. There wasn’t a massive selection, particularly in the evenings, but there was always something you could find to eat. I’d describe it as decent rather than outstanding you certainly wouldn’t go hungry, but food probably wouldn’t be the main reason I’d choose this hotel.
The gym was a real positive and was better than I expected.
There are water sports available on the beach, but these are not free. We managed to hire a paddleboard for €15, which was a lovely way to spend some time on the water.
The one downside for us was the evening entertainment. It was fairly minimal, so if you’re looking for a hotel with entertainment every night, this probably isn’t the place for you. That said, we actually enjoyed the peace and quiet. You can always make your own entertainment, and for us the lack of nightlife added to the relaxing feel of the holiday.
If you fancy getting out and about, Ouranoupoli is around a 30–40 minute walk, although it involves walking along roads without great pedestrian facilities, so I personally wouldn’t recommend doing it in the dark. A taxi or the hotel shuttle is a much easier option.
Ouranoupoli itself is definitely worth a visit. The Byzantine Tower is beautiful, and there are plenty of lovely little shops, cafés and places to wander around.
Overall, Akrathos was a peaceful, quiet and relaxing holiday rather than a lively one. The beach, pool and views are definitely the highlights. The food was okay, the gym was great, and the limited evening entertainment didn’t bother us because we were happy to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
If you’re looking for somewhere to switch off, enjoy the beach, swim, have a few drinks and take in some beautiful scenery, I’d recommend it. If you want lots of nightlife, entertainment and a huge choice of food, you might find it a little too quiet.
For us, it was a lovely, relaxing holiday and exactly what we needed. ☀️

I enjoyed my vacations
The rooms were spotless, the staff was incredibly friendly and the location was perfect, making it easy to explore the area.
As for the food, the buffet offered a great variety of fresh and delicious options.
We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service and memorable experience.
We can't wait to come back.

Fabulous hotel, we had a great week.
Fabulous holiday. Beautiful beach and scenery, amazing sunsets from the hotel. The hotel is very high end, the sofas, beanbags, chairs and sun-beds were classy and looked great. Entertainment only twice a week but Very high quality. A man playing the saxophone/disco and Greek dancers. Both evenings were excellent. Food really good but only 3 meals a day but no snack bar. Drinks were good, unlimited cocktails, red, rose and white wine were good. Sea view rooms spacious and modern. Transfers 2 hours there and 3 hours back which wasn’t ideal but we had aircon on the coach and the journey was really scenic. Lovely beautiful beach, free sun beds and parasols. Unlimited drinks from beach bar. Toilet 5 min walk up a slope. We had a fantastic week at the hotel, the hotel manager walks around each day and chats to everyone to make sure everything is ok. I would stay at this hotel again.
Pros

Sea view rooms clean, modern and spacious with 2 bathrooms. We had a problem with our aircon and it was fixed within an hour. We asked for quilts and they were bought straight away.
Beach is Beautiful and sea so clear for snorkelling.
Cons
2-3 hour transfer from airport (but very scenic journey)
Only 2 nights entertainment (but quality acts not quantity)
If mobility problems mention on booking as Some rooms are up a steep slope.
The walk to the beach is 5 mins over a bridge or down a steep road. Hotel will transport you to the beach if you ask.
Beach toilet 5 min walk up a slope.

Your place to rest with spectacular view and great atmosphere.
The view. Atmosphere. Private beach. Good food.
Firstly, in less then 24h of your stay you'll be warmly greeted by Eduardo, good spirit of this place, he and rest of the staff makes you feel sinceirly welcomed, this behavior really makes a difference.
Secondly - the view which is spectacular, hotel is on the hill and you always see the sea and islands.
Great private beach, I was before season so for me is great to just hear the waves and feel decompressed.
Food is good, if you want eat more locally there is plenty of choice, also if you want eat more like on the cheat day there is always something to choose.
On the other side - thin walls and unfortunately Ive heard my neighbours all the time.
There is one thing which could improve expierience drastically - guys change instant coffee to real coffee, this is biggest minus, in the land of good coffee, instant coffee everywhere really brings down the expierience.
My room was clean, bathroom and bed were comfy.

I'll go again if I could decide once more.

A memorable trip!
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The place was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The location was lovely, and the atmosphere was relaxing and welcoming. I really enjoyed my time there and had a great experience overall. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to visit again! Best hotel in Ouranoupoli ever!!! I suggest you book your room as soon as possible!
