Splendid relaxing vacation with long walks in Nature, fresh air and swimming and relaxing in the saunas.

We (my hubby and my mom) stayed the last 2 weeks in May in this hotel. I had booked it because I needed an indoor swimming pool for my mom which is her highlight of the year. We loved our stay. The rooms (1 double 1 single) were clean, nice and quiet. The breakfast buffet was excellent with plenty of choices. Swimmingpool was great and we had the chance on 3 days to also use the Saunas which we loved. We did not book the half board as I prefer to try different restaurants and cuisines rather than eating at the same place all the time. We ended up eating a la carte at the hotel quite often. The food was good with the exception of 1 dish on 1 day. The hotel is very quiet and the surrounding invites to hiking tours which we did. The staff is lovely and helpful. Be prepared there is nothing in the village or close by in case you want shops or restaurants or discos etc. It is in the middle of nowhere so to speak. But shops or other restaurants or smaller cities are just 20-30min away and so is the Edersee in case you want to take a boat ride. If you have a car there is plenty to explore. I would love to come back one day to enjoy and join the yoga and horseback riding. This time the vacation was solely for my mom and to spend quality time with her and walking in fresh air in nature.

Disappointing and very outdated.

Unfortunately, it is very outdated and lacks a service mentality.
We came to relax at this hotel and were unfortunately very disappointed. The reception was incompetent and uncommunicative.
We had previously registered for gluten-free options, but unfortunately, it was not implemented. Breakfast was rather simple, and dinner was also a buffet.
The spa area is large, and since the weather was good, everything was well distributed. However, we unfortunately spent half of the weekend waiting: waiting for towels, waiting for drinks, waiting for the bill, waiting for salt and pepper (the food was then cold), waiting for advice. There was no communication between the reception and the spa, making it difficult to book spa appointments, etc. In the evening, the bar was closed from 5 PM, and it was not opened again after dinner. Therefore, it was over by 9 PM.
We have had many wonderful wellness weekends, but unfortunately, this was not one of them.

herzlichen Dank, dass Sie sich die Zeit genommen haben, Ihre Erfahrungen bei uns so offen und ausführlich zu schildern.
Es tut uns sehr leid, dass Ihr Aufenthalt hinter Ihren Erwartungen zurückgeblieben ist und Sie insbesondere mit dem Service sowie den Abläufen an verschiedenen Stellen unseres Hauses unzufrieden waren. Ihre Schilderungen zu langen Wartezeiten – sei es auf Handtücher, Getränke, Rechnung oder Beratung – nehmen wir mit großem Bedauern zur Kenntnis. Auch die mangelnde Kommunikation zwischen den Bereichen, insbesondere zwischen Rezeption und Spa, sowie die Schwierigkeiten bei der Terminbuchung entsprechen keineswegs unserem Anspruch an einen reibungslosen und erholsamen Aufenthalt.
Dass Ihr Wunsch nach glutenfreier Verpflegung nicht umgesetzt wurde und Sie das kulinarische Angebot zum Frühstück und beim Abendbuffet als enttäuschend empfunden haben, bedauern wir sehr. Für uns ist es selbstverständlich, auf individuelle Ernährungswünsche vorbereitet zu sein und jedem Gast maximale Aufmerksamkeit zu schenken. Ihre Hinweise zur eingeschränkten Verfügbarkeit der Bar am Abend könne wir hier leider nicht nachvollziehen, da unsere Bar immer bis mindestens 23h geöffnet ist.
Zugleich bedauern wir, dass der Gesamteindruck von einem Haus geprägt war, das für Sie nicht mehr auf dem aktuellen Stand erscheint und Sie den Servicegedanken bei uns vermisst haben. Wir verstehen, wie wichtig klare Kommunikation und eine durchgehende Betreuung für ein gelungenes Wellnesswochenende sind.
Ihre offenen und ehrlichen Worte helfen uns, die genannten Punkte eingehend zu prüfen und Verbesserungen voranzutreiben. Es ist unser Ziel, unseren Gästen einen entspannten und rundum angenehmen Aufenthalt zu bieten – Rückmeldungen wie Ihre sind hierbei ein wertvoller Impuls.

To avoid for the evening meal

Evening meal not worthy of a hotel of this category. The dishes are made with basic ingredients. Example of a starter: a few slices of red beet with unseasoned arugula. Flat example: catfish. The day we left, there were still these ingredients on the menu. The meats were overcooked. Beef rolls inedible; we were kindly offered wine. The table behind also returned the dish and exchanged with the vegie dish. Even the osso buco was overcooked. We are used to this category of German hotel but it was the worst.

a hidden gem

this a great hotel in a location which is really good for activity and sports, we stayed two nights and found the staff and service excellent great breakfast, running trails and cycling trails to the erdesse direct from the hotel, although we didnt have time to use the riding stables they appeared clean and well used. lovely outdoor pool.
would ecommend and will probably use again.

Very friendly people

It takes a long drive to get to this hotel from the motorway. Some people said in the reviews that it’s like a maze, well it’s true that there are many corridors, stairs and elevators connect different parts of the hotel but everything is signed so it’s hard to get lost.
Breakfast was incredibly good but the best was the hospitality of the staff.
