Nice experience

Tasty and refined cuisine in a pleasant setting for very decent prices. With a very good service. Terrace full of charm. Endorsement pattern.Establishment to recommend without restriction. Then, towards Saint Aigulin, pretty little town at the crossroads of four departments where the Dronne flows, adorable little river.

We enjoyed a quite outstanding evening meal cooked by the owner. It was original and delicious.
The hotel itself was quirky, albeit in a good way. Old fashioned and probably in need of a facelift; but as a taste of rural France, hard to beat.

This hotel is a hidden treasure thanks to its restaurant

When I booked to visit the area, I knew what I was going to find at the Art Dit Vin hotel. Located in front of Saint Aigulin station (less than 2000 inhabitants), I suspected that I would find the old-fashioned charm of these rural establishments that I had rubbed shoulders with when I was a student. In the 1970s, when SNCF revised its railway network, many stations closed while others continued. This is the case with Saint Aigulin station, which is still served by the TER. But the hotels opposite the stations had to renovate their facades. This is certainly the case with Art Say Wine which then froze in the 70s. Travellers then were no longer staying there. I really had the feeling of traveling back in time when we spent the night there. Nothing seemed to have changed, the narrow staircase with its metal ramp, the long corridors with few rooms (9 rooms in the establishment). Most of these hotels have closed. The end of a world. The current owners have been able to negotiate the deadly shift in rural-urban migration. This hotel resists globalization and its paradigms by developing a remarkable restaurant. That’s why I keep an establishment with clean and welcoming rooms despite corridors with clean carpets. But anyway, you come to a hotel from the last century to sleep there. But before you reach your room enjoy the restaurant which, in my opinion, is a nugget. Dine at Art Says Wine and join your room. You will only remember the gastronomic break under the centenary lime of the garden.
To sum up, shine in the area, book a room at a rate of rare quality price and dine on site which you will keep the memory of a moment of great sweetness.
