Superb experience

A majestic mountain hideaway in the Pyrenees. Lovely couple cooked us a delicious dinner. Amazing mountain views. Very comfortable. Recreational activities e.g. billiards, table tennis. Recommended as good base for traveling in the Pyrenees.

Excellent I would highly recommend

What a fantastic place to stay. The hosts are French and so welcoming and friendly. The room was small but perfectly formed with a nice en-suite. We had a room with a mountain view which was exceptional. There are various terraces that you can sit on and enjoy the scenery. We had a wonderful evening meal, eaten with our hosts and friend who joined us for the evening, which made it all the more enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of choices. This B&B is absolutely lovely and the hosts have renovated their home excellently.

Super place to stay

Michel and Marie were lovely hosts - so chilled and relaxed. Other chambers d'hôte place very often overwhelm you with information, whereas here any information given was very discrete. Michel is an excellent cook and also prepares a great breakfast. Our sat nav sent us up a very strange way - beware! It was a track with grass and stones, we persevered and got there in the end. Of course there is a better track, although still quite narrow. Our room was lovely with superb views over the valley. We had an outside seating area right next to our room and also made use of the decking behind the house.

Fantastic views

Great hosts offering a evening here course meal for €24 with wine, the bedroom was fairly basic but warm wth plenty of hot water for the shower.
The drive up to the parking area is very steep and narrow, definitely not for the faint hearted.

Hitting the heights

Nestled in the lower Pyrenees, the setting of this lovely chambres d'hote is one of its great pluses. The others are the quality of the accommodation (renovations carried out by Michel and Marie's own fair hands), and the warmth of welcome from the lovely couple themselves. The old part of the house is a converted stone barn, and the modern extension is like something from Grand Designs. The roof of the new room forms a beautiful deck area with views across the village to the mountains beyond
Michel and Marie make you completely at home - their lounge is your lounge, and a fine one it is too. Breakfast were splendid, with lots of home made preserves and other goodies. Michel lent us the required map for our walk up to the nearby and stunning Lac d'Oo, and also a umbrella for our walk into the local village the first evening. The village of Cierp-Gaud is limited in its amenities, but the one restaurant in walking distance proved very satisfactory
The quality of décor in this accommodation is first class, and the setting makes it wonderful. It's really good value for money too. When you arrive at the location, persevere up the steep and gradually narrower and narrower lane, there is plenty of parking at the top (despite how it might appear at first). One word of warning - don't let your sat-nav take you out of the property any way other than the way you came in, or you may be doing a lot of reversing up steep, narrow tracks - we did!
