very hospitable

I took along a party of 18 British people aged 60 - 85 for a three night stay. We arrived at 7.30 pm and dinner was ready for 8.00pm as booked. Excellent meal and 18 happy customers. Very friendly people and always willing to attend to our needs. Excellent breakfast choice. basic but good clean rooms. My wife and I have used the restaurant at least five times per year for the last ten years. Never had a bad or even average meal. I dont know where Riverbankannie and 63charlotte went to but it certainly wasn't here!

lovely hotel and restaurant

Stayed at this hotel on a few occasions over the last 30 years, recently we visited on two occasions. Very freindly and helful owners, clean and very comfortable rooms and a fantastic restaurant overlooking the river Sarthe. The food is excellent and not to be missed.
Lovely location for a stop over night or a longer stay.

Terrible service

Arriving at our table at 7 pm to eat at 7:30pm. I eventually got my main course after 9:30 pm. No bread offered . We had been travelling all day and it was hot and uncomfortable to sit for so long. I asked for my dessert to come quickly as at nearly 10 pm I wanted to go to bed. Was told I could not have it as had to wait for everyone.
Rooms hot no air con and by noisy road junction.
Bar not open for cold drinks on arrival. I asked at reception but had to wait a long time as only member of staff on telephone.
Cannot recommend this hotel.

HORRIBLE!

Food, service & the people was absolutely HORRIBLE. We have never in our lives been treated this bad. When we came with a discrete complaint the waitress told us "she did not care about us!" These exact words. When we wrote a complaint to the hotel they never answered. Absolutely horrible.

Great location, excellent restaurant

Beautiful location overlooking the river Sarfe. Private parking was included which was a bonus as a group of us were travelling in classic cars. Rooms were basic and the ensuite was a little tired, but was comfortable with a balcony overlooking the river with excellent views. The hotel restaurant on the river bank was excellent, great food, reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
