Beautiful Spot in Bermuda
Positives - Beautiful Beach right on property and never an issue with beach chairs or pool chairs. I think it is one of the few hotels on Bermuda right on the beach. Service was excellent everywhere you went. Room was great. Large, great views, comfortable beds. Also walkable to Tobacco Bay beach which is another great spot.
The only negative is the location on the island - this might not actually be negative depending on your point of view. Its on the far west end of island, so its somewhat isolated. Its close to St. Georges, but there is very little going on in St. Georges. Its even quieter than we expected, without a lot of restaurant choices. Because hotel is small, there is only one restaurant, so you have to venture out for other options, and there is not much close by. However, Bermuda isn't that big, so you can take a cab or the bus to other areas if you want to explore. A cab ride to Hamilton is about $60-70.

Thank you for choosing The St. Regis Bermuda Resort for your first St. Regis experience and for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our beachfront location, spacious accommodations, and the attentive service provided by our team. It is also wonderful to know that you were able to take advantage of nearby attractions such as Tobacco Bay and the historic Town of St. George.
We appreciate your comments regarding our location and dining options. While our setting offers a tranquil escape away from the busier areas of the island, we understand that guests seeking a wider variety of restaurants and nightlife may prefer to explore other parts of Bermuda. Thank you for your review. We are pleased to know you enjoyed our beachfront and the ambiance of the lobby bar, and our signature champagne sabering experience.
That said, we are sorry to learn that aspects of your accommodations and the perceived value of your stay fell short of expectations. While some guests appreciate the unique design of our room layouts, we understand it may not suit everyone's preferences. Your comments have been shared with our leadership team for consideration.
We sincerely appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more memorable stay in the future.

Beautiful beach but resort needs more attention
The negative: The location is quite a drive to many other parts of the island. This is not always a negative but the poor shuttle driver, who can exclusively take guests to St George only has room for 9 guests at a time. The resort either needs a second shuttle or a larger van as guests often wait for two trips to get a spot into St. George or back. This may seem very particular but the lobby has an air freshener that smells like the cheapest car air freshener you could buy. It’s actually a sweet, offensive smell that is quite strong. It would serve the hotel to either change the fragrance or do away with it all together. The sea air is lovely on its own.
And lastly the main issue is inconsistent and spotty house keeping. This was mentioned in other reviews so we know it’s not just our experience. When we checked in (room was ready 20 minutes after it was supposed to be ready so we waited) the residence appeared very clean. Sadly that was the only time it was cleaned thoroughly. We were in a residence for close to a week and the sheets were never changed nor the floors vacuumed. I know this because housekeeping came each day around 2-3 when we were already back in the room and spent no more than 20 minutes cleaning a very large area while we often sat on the porch. In their defense I don’t think it’s for lack of wanting to do a good job as the staff in all other areas is quite helpful and efficient. I just think that housekeeping is not sufficiently staffed which leads to them being rushed. If the residence had included a vacuum I would have done it myself. I did end up using the units washing machine to wash a set of sheets. Also with the cleaning being so late in the day turn down was 2/12 hours after the first cleaning, so we didn’t take advantage of it. In my opinion it would be better to do away with turn down and give the staff the time they need to clean the rooms.
In the end I think the resort is set on a beach that might rival paradise but it needs work to be excellent and elevate it to luxury status. For our next visit we will try a different hotel.

Outstanding Beach Team and Beautiful Setting, but Management, Housekeeping, and Check-In Still Need Work
The short version is this: The St. Regis Bermuda has one of the most spectacular locations of any resort we’ve visited anywhere in the world. It is a beautiful property with outstanding food, wonderful people, and what I believe is the best beach access of any resort in Bermuda. At the same time, there are still some operational issues that prevent it from fully living up to the luxury standard that its prices promise.
THE LOCATION
The location is simply spectacular for us.
St. Catherine’s Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Bermuda. The water is calm, crystal clear, and absolutely perfect for families with young children. Our four-year-old son could spend hours playing in the shallow turquoise water, and every morning we looked out over the incredible blue of the Sargasso Sea from our residence.
One unexpected highlight is watching the enormous cruise ships pass surprisingly close offshore. It is amazing to see ships of that size glide by against the turquoise water, and our son loved watching them from both the beach and our terrace.
If your ideal vacation is beach, relaxation, swimming, and beautiful scenery, it is difficult to imagine a better location anywhere on the island.
The resort is also adjacent to historic Fort St. Catherine and only minutes from Tobacco Bay and the charming town of St. George’s.
One thing prospective guests should understand is that St. George’s is charming, historic, and wonderfully peaceful—but it is not Hamilton. If your priority is nightlife, upscale shopping, and a busier atmosphere, this location probably isn’t for you. If you’re looking to unwind on one of the best beaches in Bermuda, it’s hard to beat.
THE BEACH TEAM IS THE HEART AND SOLE OF THE RESORT
The greatest asset of this resort is the people. In particular, the beach staff are the heart and soul of the service and guest experience.
Mijo, Sumit, Jack, Coco, Diego, Gonzalo, and Judy Ann took extraordinary care of our family every single day. They anticipated what we needed before anyone even asked. Chairs were always ready. Towels appeared before we looked for them. Drinks arrived with a smile. They remembered names, preferences, were great with our son, and genuinely seemed happy to see guests each morning.
Their warmth and professionalism transformed beautiful days at the beach into unforgettable memories.
Management should recognize how valuable this team is. They deserve tremendous credit and should be supported, appreciated, and retained. They are one of the biggest reasons our family continues to return to this resort.
Food & Beverage
The food continues to be excellent.
The sushi at the bar remains outstanding and became one of our favorite lunches.
Breakfast was consistently very good, and room service was prompt and well prepared. Mano delivered breakfast one morning and provided exceptional service.
Dinner was excellent as well.
Daniel, Ivan, and Reda all provided attentive, professional, friendly service and helped make every meal enjoyable.
Housekeeping Has Improved—but Still Needs More Consistency
Housekeeping was noticeably better than during our previous visits. Unfortunately, there is still room for improvement.
The kitchenette area was occasionally overlooked, with crumbs left behind after cleaning, and turndown service did not always occur.
Our residence also had a noticeable mildew smell at times. It wasn’t overwhelming, but it was noticeable enough that it should be addressed.
These aren’t major issues individually, but luxury resorts distinguish themselves through consistency and attention to detail.
One Significant Disappointment: Check-In
Our check-in experience was disappointing. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. We then waited approximately thirty minutes before anyone was available simply to begin the check-in process.
After checking in, we waited until nearly 5:00 p.m. before our residence was actually ready. That meant almost two hours after arriving at the resort before we could begin enjoying our vacation.
One of Bermuda’s greatest advantages is that it’s only about a two-hour flight from much of the U.S. East Coast. You can leave home in the morning and be relaxing on a beautiful beach that afternoon. That advantage largely disappears when guests then spend another two hours waiting in the lobby.
I understand that hotels publish official "check-in times." As a guest, however, I don’t really care what the hotel would like the check-in time to be. When I arrive at a luxury resort at 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon, and that arrival time has been shared in advance (in fact, the hotel made the arrangements for our transportation to the resort), I expect to be in my room within about ten minutes. If that isn’t possible, there should be proactive communication, genuine apologies, and visible efforts to make the experience right.
This is an area that still needs significant improvement.
Management Should Be More Visible
One thing that surprised me throughout our stay was the lack of engagement from resort management. We were traveling as a large family group for our third trip here, staying more than a week, and occupying one of the resort’s signature three-bedroom penthouse residences. Most luxury resort management teams would make sure to say hello. Not once did anyone from management reach out to welcome us, ask how our stay was going, or check whether everything was meeting expectations.
Luxury hospitality is often defined by small personal touches. A simple phone call, brief conversation, or handwritten welcome note would have gone a long way.
Families
Families should know that there are relatively few organized children’s activities compared with many luxury Caribbean resorts. Even something simple—a daily beach game, pool activity, sandcastle competition, scavenger hunt, or children’s craft hour—would make the resort even more appealing for families without changing its relaxed atmosphere.
Final Thoughts
Despite the criticisms above, we genuinely love this resort and fully expect to return for a fourth visit. The location is extraordinary. St. Catherine’s Beach is, in our opinion, the finest beach attached to any resort in Bermuda. The food is consistently excellent. Most importantly, the service team—especially Mijo, Sumit, Jack, Coco, Diego, Gonzalo, Judy Ann, Daniel, Ivan, Reda, and Mano—is among the very best we’ve experienced anywhere. They embody everything luxury hospitality should be.
What keeps this property from being truly world-class are operational issues that are entirely fixable: more consistent housekeeping, a dramatically improved check-in experience, and management that is more visible and engaged with guests.
The foundation is already here. With improvements in those areas, I believe The St. Regis Bermuda has the potential to become one of the finest luxury beach resorts in the Atlantic.
We’ll certainly be back—and we hope to see those same outstanding team members again. They are the reason a beautiful resort became another memorable family vacation.
