Not Recommended Noisey, Passive Smoke in Room
Walking through the door on arrival we had about 15sq m of space, we could smell cigarette smoke with some overpowering room scent trying to mask it. This turned out to be a diffuser that did nothing to mask the smell. The irony, on the desk a tent card $200.00 fine for smoking in the room. Turns out people sit outside the rooms smoking which goes straight through the permanently open bathroom louvres, how’s that fair ? with passive smoke going in your room.
Our room here was like stepping back into an old style motel and not in a good way. Block painted wall old light switches and fittings on wall no longer in use. A split system a/c that was like an old wall rattler that was so noisey you could not sleep with it on. The ensuite was the smallest that I can recall having spent more than 1,500 nights in hotels/motels over the last ten years. A shower curtain have not seen one of those in a motel for years but of course there’s not enough room for a glass screen door. Tap fittings and bathroom fittings are all old, and very basic toilet.
Don’t get a room on the road side trucks go past making noise all night good luck sleeping. The other issue we had lights go on and off all night constantly lighting up your room which on some sensor even though no people are walking past.
Room rates are high and do not justify prices asked here our very small room cost $170.00+
In house wifi runs very slowly I clocked it at just over 2 MBPS like an old dial up speed, see screenshot.
The one saving grace we found was that the room was clean.
I know my review will be very controversial and goes against many other reviewers but feel it is an honest appraisal of our stay, I do not recommend this motel.

We apologise for the smoke smell you experienced. All rooms are non-smoking, however smoke from outdoor areas can occasionally drift through bathroom louvres in our older-style building. We understand how frustrating this is and are reviewing ways to better manage it.
Our motel is traditional in style, and while many guests find it comfortable, we acknowledge your comments regarding room size, fittings, air-conditioning noise, road noise, lighting sensors, and Wi-Fi speed. These concerns have been noted and will be reviewed.
We are pleased you found the room clean, as this remains a key priority for us. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Great place to staying while travelling
We had a great meal at the pub on Railway Parade.
We highly recommend staying here.

On a bend, round the bend at Tailem Bend a charming room ... at River Bend
A little tight for parking on lower-numbered rooms; leave a trailer outside... Room had both work desk plus a table - three chairs - all a bloke could need... a few USB-C plugs for the contraptions we carry on the road may help.
Don't judge a motel by its exterior. My wife would like my room as it was cosy and functional.
