Beautiful!
I recommend it! The hostel is in the Villa Ayelen neighborhood, a beautiful neighborhood.
The inn is beautiful, we were prepared a super spacious room, very clean.
In the room there is an electric jug to prepare you tea.
It's very well heated.
Breakfast is continental.
A place very well served by the owner.
It is very warm, beautiful, you feel at home.

Small and cosy
Canela is only small so don't expect the facilities of a larger hotel. Jorge and Veronica were very welcoming and sorted tickets for the train journey on Sunday evening for Tuesday (it gets full in season). The room was comfortable and spacious. Breakfast as with most places focussed on sweet stuff, which is a problem for diabetics, having said that it was pretty good and eggs were available.

Thanks a lot for your nice review! Yes, as in most parts in Argentina our breakfast includes a lot of sweet stuff like jam, cakes, croissants, cereals, white and whole wheat bread, fruit salad, etc. But there is also ham, cheese and scrambled eggs! And we also hope our small, 5-bedroom scale B&B fills the expectations of our guests that come looking for a more personal experience in our smallish (45,000 inhabitants) Patagonian city.

Disappointing
We’ve stayed there in April and were quite disappointed. We had a rather nice room, somewhat faded. The bed was just correct, but the big problem was the noise of the road (it is unpaved and surprisingly, there is a lot of traffic passing by). There is nearly no view, between the trees and on a lot of new constructions on the other side of the road. On the (very) good side, the owner is nice, with lot of stories about Patagonia, and the breakfast good.

Dear guest: Sorry you just happened to make check-in during the half-hour rush when moms are fetching their children at the schools in the city and some peole returning from their jobs. But rest assured, Canela is a lot quieter than downtown and sleep quality is definitely one of the assets here in our Esquel neighbourhood, the residential district of Villa Ayelen. The road was paved years ago and is in excellent repair, you must have been confused about that because the one pictured on the Google Street view of our hosteria is outdated.
When you asked for some other room you were promptly changed to a our largest one, that looks the other way, upon our big garden, the little pine grove and the Andes mountains. Thanks for your nice review about the Patagonian stories and our breakfast!

Comfy & Cozy
Clean, comfy & cozy, great breakfast. Jorge is an incredible source for the history of Patagonia, having lived & worked on a family estancia in southern Patagonia, which once had thousands of sheep. He is also a retired agronomist and you can pick his brain about almost anything having to do with the flora & the fauna.

Thanks for your nice review. It's always a pleasure to share with our guests some knowledge about our wonderful Patagonian history an geography. Definitively, one of the highlights in operating a B&B like ours is the cultural interchange one gets to have with its guests --we learn a lot about their home countries too!

All a B&B needs
You get it all here: a quiet location, a nice property, tastefully decorated rooms and communal areas. The owner is very nice, everything is spotlessly clean and breakfast is good. The only thing to criticize is the location, it's quite a walk into town.

And you are right, it's a 2-km (1.3 miles) walk to the commercial center of Esquel. As you say, we have a quiet location at the leafy neighbourhood of Villa Ayelen. But if you don't feel like walking, a taxi will charge you about 5 dollars to take you there in 5 minutes.
