Exceptional Service, Stunning Views, and 5-Star Dining
We chose Ruparara Valley Lodge to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and from the very moment we arrived, the experience felt truly special. On our way in, we were lucky enough to spot zebras along the road—completely unexpected and such a beautiful way to begin our stay.
The reception team welcomed us warmly, setting the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable visit. Our room had an incredible view of the mountains—peaceful, scenic, and perfect for such a meaningful occasion. Even more special was the cozy setup inside: a heated blanket on our bed made the room feel incredibly warm, intimate, and romantic, even without air conditioning.
We had made a dinner reservation for 7 pm, and the attention to detail completely exceeded our expectations. Our table was beautifully decorated with flowers and candles, creating the perfect romantic atmosphere. To top it off, we were surprised with a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.
Nyari, our server, was exceptional—attentive, professional, and genuinely thoughtful throughout the evening. The food itself was nothing short of outstanding. Chef Nigel curated a true 5-star dining experience; every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We enjoyed the meal so much that we asked to meet him, and he kindly came out to greet us, which made the experience even more personal.
The hospitality extended beyond the restaurant as well. The manager, Jonathan, was incredibly warm and welcoming, ensuring our stay was comfortable and memorable. On our final day, we discovered our car had been washed and prepared for our journey home—a small but meaningful gesture that perfectly summed up the lodge’s attention to detail.
This was more than just a stay; it was an experience filled with thoughtful touches and genuine hospitality. We will definitely be coming back.

Out of puff
Beware this hotel is on a cliff. 100 steps up to reception and restaurant. Fine if you are young and fit. My husband is 71 and I am 63.!

Stay at Rupurara Valley Lodge
I stayed at the Rupurara Valley Lodge with my family for the weekend of 13 to 15 March 2026. I was participating in the Triathlon Trail Run and the HAC Worlds View Run. The service we received from the Lodge was exceptional and top notch. Obey and team were fantastic throughout. The food is really out of this world such that my 2 year old son kept on commenting that "we had very nice breakfast". The hotel is also tucked away from the noise and hustle that sometimes happens in Nyanga during major holidays and events which is an extra advantage. I would recommend anyone to try Rupurara.

Amazing TimeOut
Words can’t even explain or express my feeling of fulfilment. What an amazing place. Not forgetting our waitress Nyarie who made our stay worthwhile. Ticks all the boxes, Jono the GM what a guy, good conversations and laughter. Amaaaaaaazing❤️❤️

Juliasdale Getaway
Very well maintained lodge, beautiful gardens, stunning views. A combination of modern facilities and Juliasdale charm. The number of steps could be an issue for some.
Very helpful friendly staff. Would recommend the Shumba Suite if a group of 4 adults or a family, as it has a long veranda, private pool and incredible view.
