Karaoke queen and local legend

What a legend (and a little bit of a loon in a good way) the owner of this guest house is! Karaoke queen and the most welcoming and happy person in Vietnam! She is actually a little bit famous in Vietnam but made our visit so special we stayed an extra day and sang karaoke with her in her living room in the middle of the afternoon. She booked our bus to the next stop and then personally took us and our bags on her tiny bike to the bus stop and gave us hugs goodbye. It would be worth going back to Tam Coc just to see her, though the town and area itself are super charming and beautiful, although getting a bit touristy (it was our second visit and is rapidly changing).

Fabulous Homestay

This is a wonderful place to stay for a few days.
Clean, centrally located , good choice for breakfast including freshly squeezed juice Plenty hot water and air con
However the highlight had to be Huyen, the fabulous lady who owns this with her husband. She goes out her way to make sure you see her part of the world, are happy with everything and tells you all about her family and history. She is warm and so welcoming
She arranged a driver for a day to take us to various places. A Malaysian couple came to stay too and she hooked us up for the day. This made for a very fun day getting to know them
Google translate is how Huyen communicates and she doesn’t well.

Most amazing homestay!!

Most amazing homestay run by the loveliest people!!! The woman running this place is so helpful and friendly, this is definitely the place to stay if you want to feel welcome in Tam Cốc. The homestay itself is very nice, the beds are so comfy and the rooms are very clean. The location is also perfect- for exploring Tam Cốc and making the most of your stay or just for enjoying good local food. You can hire bikes from the homestay and explore the local temples and mua caves.

I had booked 3 nights through Expedia and trip.com, but they were overbooked. I was introduced to another hotel run by a family without being informed that it was overbooked. I found out about the overbooking when I was about to be charged the additional difference the next day. Since I had made reservations through two internet sites, I had emailed them to confirm my reservation in advance, but they said they didn't do it because they didn't know how to use email. They said they stopped listing online travel agencies, but they are still listing them. Even though I had made the reservation few months in advance and had already paid, I was told that the hotel price had increased and was about to be charged an additional fee. They also asked me to split the additional difference between them, but I refused to pay because it was not my fault. The couple seem nice however the experience felt like a scam. I trusted the good reviews too much. They should have apologized for overbooking, but they never did.

Perfect

I recommend this establishment which is very well located, next to the lake. The family is very nice, we were made very welcome. The food is very good. The rooms are very comfortable and clean
