Unhappy customers
Everyone please avoid booking the sun star beach hotel, it is absolutely disgusting. My husband is not very well and has been vomiting since eating at the hotel, there were flies everywhere in the restaurant and they were landing on the food also the food was atrocious same repeated food served everyday with little to no changes. We’re told it was all inclusive but the only cocktails they served was sex on the beach and all drinks were served in small cardboard coffee cups. The shower in our room was filthy too. And my husband is still ill after arriving back home yesterday.

Avoid This Hotel
I recently stayed at the Sun Star Beach Hotel for two weeks with my parents, my wife and our two children. Unfortunately, what started as a positive first impression quickly turned into a very disappointing experience, and I would not return to this hotel.
When we first arrived, we were initially impressed. The reception area was clean and tidy, the staff were friendly, and we were checked in quickly and efficiently.
However, the problems began once we reached our rooms. My parents’ room did not have running hot water for more than a week. In our room, the sleeping arrangements consisted of a double bed, a single camp bed and another camp bed. Unfortunately, one of the camp beds had what appeared to be blood stains, as well as a brown stain that appeared to be faecal matter. Despite raising this issue, it took more than a week for the camp bed to be replaced.
Both the problem with the camp bed and the lack of hot water were reported to our holiday representative and the hotel manager on four separate occasions. Despite this, the issues were not resolved promptly. Our holiday representative even recommended that we move to the Sun Star Resort Hotel, but this would have cost us an additional £1,400.
We also experienced an unexpected leak from the bathroom sink. I immediately reported the leak to reception, but after approximately 10 minutes the issue had still not been addressed. I reported it again, and it took approximately an hour for a maintenance worker to attend. By that point, the bathroom had become completely flooded.
This was particularly concerning because the bathroom flooring becomes extremely slippery when wet. To make matters worse, after dealing with the leak, the maintenance worker left behind a rusty piece of material in the bathroom. Given how slippery the floor was, I was extremely concerned that either myself or a member of my family could have slipped, fallen and cut themselves on the rusty material, potentially resulting in an infection. I found this completely unacceptable, particularly in a family hotel.
Housekeeping was another major disappointment. Cleaning appeared to be virtually non-existent. The floors were not properly swept, mirrors were not cleaned, and although dirty towels were taken away, clean replacements were not always provided. Toilet paper was also not consistently replenished. The filter inside the air-conditioning unit had also not been cleaned.
The hotel also has a slide, which I found extremely dangerous. There was no supervision in the area, and I witnessed several accidents while we were there. This was particularly worrying for a family hotel, as children could use the slide without adequate monitoring or assistance. I believe the lack of supervision created an unnecessary safety risk.
If you are expecting a relaxing holiday, I would strongly advise you to think twice before booking this hotel. The hotel has a DJ, and the music is extremely loud. It starts at approximately 10am and continues into the early hours, meaning there is very little opportunity to enjoy any peace or quiet during the day or evening. For anyone looking for a relaxing family break, this could be a major issue.
The food was another significant disappointment. I would strongly recommend eating elsewhere if possible. The food was plain, bland and extremely repetitive throughout our stay. There were also flies around the food, which was particularly concerning. The dining room does not have air conditioning, making it extremely warm and uncomfortable while eating. The lack of air conditioning also appeared to contribute to the presence of flies around the food, making mealtimes a very unpleasant experience.
Finally, if you have mobility issues, I would think very carefully before booking this hotel. The lift appeared to break down regularly, sometimes three or four times a day, which could make getting around the hotel very difficult.
Overall, while the initial welcome was pleasant, the numerous problems we experienced throughout our two-week stay completely overshadowed that first impression. The repeated failure to resolve basic maintenance and hygiene issues, the dangerous and unsupervised slide, poor housekeeping, disappointing food, constant loud music and unreliable lift made this a very frustrating holiday.
Sadly, based on our experience, I would not return to the Star Beach Hotel and cannot recommend it.

Stay away
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We have iust come home from there and I have been really ill. The hotel is not clean its really dirty. When they wash the floor they swep the water into the pool i was there for two weeks and never seen them clean the pool. there flies everywhere, including in the restaurant where the food is. they do not clean the rooms and do not change the bath towels. We had to complain so many times when they changed our bath towels They only give us 2 for three people. Sorry, but I don't share bath towels and had to keep going down for toilet paper i wish I read the reviews because I would have booked somewhere else.

Zero stars stay clear!
From check-in until check out, rude unhelpful staff! Unbeknown there are 3 blocks with this hotel, once we were checked in, we were told to follow a guy to golf cart and taken to block C ( further away from the beach, when we had booked a sea view balcony) when the young chap took us up to our room, checked things worked, obviously the room hadnt been used for a while due to the checks and the nasty smell. Failing to check that the beds were stable until my 11 year old fell through one!. Broken beds broken shower doors and the sound of base didnt fill us with hope!.
Next day we requested to move to the main block with the facilities we actually booked. This was met with some aggression from the reception staff and only once we spoke to our rep we were offered a 'family' room for the following night and the other room would be sorted, however this was not done. Changed room the following day and we were a bed short in new 'family'room asked for another bed and were told this would be sorted through the day, came back after a day out and was not, they ended up giving us a mattress on the floor for the full stay. My partner fell on the poorly lighten stair way, one young member of staff helped me lift her into a chair, no other staff offered any assistance or help, asked for a doctor and again no staff helped getting her to the doctors car...outcome was a broken foot and the hotel not completing an accident report or checking how things were. Could go on with much more...defo not value for money and would advise against going here, everyday queues at reception with people having issues ranging from incorrect number of beds in rooms to AC not working...avoid

Terrible hotel
Absolutely dreadful, we arrived late to the hotel due to our transfer being delayed so it was 5am, the staff looked like they had been asleep. After we had been checked in we were then guided back outside the hotel and had to walk three streets away to our rooms in another block, our 4 children were extremely tired and had to help us push suitcases up a hill and across roads. On arrival to our rooms the staff opened the rooms to find there wasnt enough beds for us all. He then showed my husband to a spare room and asked him to carry a bed into the room we had been allocated, the second room we had didn't have electricity. I made up the bed as the staff left bedding but didn't offer to make the bed my husband had transported. The staff member found a different room for my eldest two children to sleep in on a different floor but then left us with a master key as he didn't want to return to the building. The next day the room situation was resolved but definitely not the best start to our holiday. Each time we wished to have a meal we had to travel back to the main building. The food was very poor quality and the choice for children was limited. The so called all inclusive bar drinks were a choice of vodka or beer, both of which i don't drink. On one day the beer pump went off so just vodka all day. The hotel staff gave us limited information about facilities so we relied on guests and ourselves to find everything. We spent additional money on food and drinks due to limited choice not the 4* all inclusive experience we had payed for and expected.
