Travel to Istanbul
It all coincided-- great tour arrangements. Thanks to Rus-Intour Agency and the manager of Okhotnikova Alina. It's as clear as a clock. And no nerves, which is important.
Positive emotions were certainly added to the hotel. Stayed at the Basilissis Hotel. The hotel is small about 18 rooms, but it's very soulful and cool.
Rooms smell clean and pleasant. The beds are very comfortable, the linens are clean and fresh. We had a triple room. The room has three separate beds, toilet and shower. There's a TV, fridge, kettle and Wi-Fi. The only minus room is small for three and there are few places to store and dry things. The room could use an extra dresser, a couple of hooks and a bathroom shelf.
Buffet-shaped breakfasts surprised us pleasantly. Several types of eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, several types of cheese, sausages, butter. Lots of greens, salads, fruits, juices, muesli, tea and coffee.Bake-off is a separate topic. Even if you don't like baked goods, that's where you'll love them. The hotel has its own chef for breakfast. She was always baking new things. A few unsweetened and a few sweet homemade pastries are guaranteed for breakfast.
There is a separate item for which thank you very much to the hotel. This is Manager Nijat. He speaks Russian as if it were his mother tongue. He told us and showed us so much on the map that it would have been enough for another review. Thanks to him, we not only visited all the most significant in Istanbul, but also went to the Olivium Outlet Center (by the way, very close. Three subway stations). Nijat, if you're reading this review, thank you very much.
The location of the hotel is a separate fat plus. Downtown. The heart. And yet very quiet. If you leave the hotel, turn left, climb the steps, turn right and walk straight without turning anywhere past the metro station and the police, then in about five minutes you will enter Ankara Street. On the left-hand side will be very decent budget Turkish canteens Balkan Lokantasy (apologies for my Turkish) as many as three canteens on the same side of the street. We loved the one closest to the hotel. The average check is about 300 lire. There are many, varied, delicious and understand Russian.
Almost opposite our beloved Balkans on the right side of the street, if you go to the promenade, there is a good exchange. Normal course, no commission.
If you go any further down the same street, you'll go to the waterfront. Turn left and there are the Bosphorus ferry wharves, the Egyptian Market and the Galata Bridge. It's close, too.
And if you leave the hotel and immediately turn right, pass under colored umbrella-lanterns down the alley, which concurrently terraces the restaurant, you will see Aya Sofia, to the left will be the entrance to the garden of Gulhane (by the way, there is a free cistern in very good condition), near the entrance to Topkapi Palace. If you don't want to go left, you can go right. There is also the Hippodrome Square and the Blue Mosque of Sultanahmet.
The only thing we're not very lucky with is the weather. Four days out of six, it rained boringly, leaving bubbles in puddles. We were saved by the shoe dryers we were taking with us, raincoats and hotel umbrellas. Even here the hotel is high.
Summary In Istanbul we will definitely come and stay in this hotel

Not to be trusted
When I checked with the hotel I was told that they could not be of any help to me.
The room I originally booked for €360 is now being offered for €1524. I understand that prices may vary, but this feels like the hotel is deliberately cancelling at the last minute in order to sell the room for a higher price. Of course, I understand they want to make more, but then offer your room in advance for the price you want for it, and don't leave people out in the cold at the last minute.

Our first time in Istanbul
The reception staff (Nijat and Muhammed) were extremely helpful and gave us valuable recommendations on places worth visiting, which helped us see a more authentic side of Istanbul.
The hotel is well located, close to many attractions, yet the street remains quiet and peaceful at night. Public transport is also convenient, with the Gülhane tram stop just a few minutes away.
Breakfasts were excellent — a proper Turkish breakfast served with genuine hospitality.
