⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Beautifully Renovated Hotel in the Heart of Sultanahmet

We recently stayed at Basileus Hotel and had a fantastic experience. It is clear that the hotel has recently undergone a major renovation, and everything feels fresh, modern, and very well maintained.
Our room looked completely new. The furniture, beds, Smart TV, mini fridge, lighting, curtains, and overall decoration have all been updated with great attention to detail. The room was spotless, comfortable, and much nicer than we expected.
The bathroom was also fully renovated with modern fixtures, a spacious shower, excellent water pressure, and everything was exceptionally clean. Housekeeping did a great job every day.
The lobby and reception area have been redesigned and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The breakfast area has also been renovated, making breakfast much more enjoyable in a bright and comfortable setting.
Another thing we appreciated was how quiet the hotel was despite being only a few minutes' walk from Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern, and the Grand Bazaar. The location is simply perfect for exploring Istanbul on foot.
The staff were genuinely friendly, professional, and always ready to help with recommendations, transportation, or anything we needed. Their hospitality made us feel at home throughout our stay.
It is obvious that the new management has invested significantly in improving the hotel. Everything feels cleaner, fresher, and more comfortable while still preserving the charm of a boutique hotel.
Considering the quality of the rooms, the excellent location, and the level of service, Basileus Hotel offers outstanding value for money. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Basileus-pretty hotel. Price-quality,pleasant surprise

Beautiful hotel within walking distance of the center 7-10 minutes.nearby in 2 steps small Ai-Sofia. There are also many cafes and shops.
Now about the hotel itself:huge lobby at the entrance, kind staff will offer tea, coffee, lemonade.you can sit in the evening.
The rooms themselves are large, light.The new showers, (just changed on the first day of arrival)although the final stage of renovation is under way, it did not hinder us in any way.
Breakfast is beautiful from savvy juice to desserts and fruit.
Soon there will be a huge terrace with a bar and excellent views of the Bosphorus (in front of us on the terrace reported tiles and the management kindly gave a tour of the hotel)
Next time I go, I'll choose this already tested hotel.

Great value, great location, exceptional staff!

Exceptionally helpful staff who offered assistance with taxis and sim cards and gave advice about nearby attractions. The room was clean and quiet and the hotel well situated. Allowance had to be made for some ongoing renovations but we didn't find that this disrupted our stay and were overall very impressed with the service we received!

Dumpster rather than hotel. Avoid at all cost. Far better options available

We booked this hotel after reading their reviews. Nothing like what we hoped for. The hotel is being renovated whilst you are there. Air cons are so noisy that you can barely get any sleep at night. Damaged fixtures all around. From lights that barely work to leaking shower head. The bathroom is mouldy and not fit for purpose. When you are having a shower, on the ground floor, there is no what pressure, TV is ancient and doesn't work at all, when we asked them to look at it we were informedthat there is no aeria, fridge in the room is cooler and you cant keep any food in it or have copd drinks in your room, during 8 days stay our bedding never got changed...... too many negative points to mention. We even got locked out of the hotel as the receptionist decided to go upstairs and lock the door and again, not even a doorbell to use. There is no free breakfast either. Regarding service, without naming anyone, you'll see 3 receptionists, and some are at least trying to help, and others couldn't care less.
