Brilliant holiday
We just returned from a weeks stay at the Royal Thalassa. Having read some reviews I was apprehensive however we have a brilliant time.
The hotel is clean, they are constantly clearing up throughout the day and clean morning and evening. The air con in my room worked fine. Our other room not as good but still worked. The main room was spacious. The other room a bit smaller but we had interconnected doors so we could use goth spaces.
There have been comments about ants on other reviews, the gardens do have ants. If you have a garden room keep the doors shut and they won’t come in. We didn’t have any ants in the room at all. They also fumigate the lawn areas each morning too.
Drinks and food available suited our family. Enough variety for everyone to eat and drink what they needed.
Direct access to the beach, and the sea was amazing!
We ate in both the restaurants. Moana was fine, pictures of our food on this review. La voile the beach restaurant had a reputation for a very slow service but we didn’t find that. Our drinks and food order was taken in good time and food arrived timely too. It was lovely watching the sunset while we ate.
The pool was never overcrowded and always space to play with the dive toys we took. Sunbeds do get taken early around the pool but we did not have any issues finding one later in the day when we did our trips. I am an early riser anyway so was out by 7 each day. There were still pool beds available at 8.
We also had photos taken by the hotel photographer which I love. Definitely worth doing and you only buy what you want. We bought 13 photos.
You can book excursions from Fritz who walks around the pool. We did quad bikes for the older boys, camel ride for me and my youngest. We also did the pirate boat trip which if you do be prepared for fun! I read about Fritz from another review which is why I booked with him. Easy jet customers can also book with the EJ rep who is there 9-11 each day.
Everywhere took GBP and USD. Cheaper in dinar (everything is 10 dinar) and you can exchange at the hotel.
It was a really good holiday. If you’re going to this hotel, you will have a brilliant time.

we arrived at the hotel at 21:30 - after a hard day, we were accommodated and they simply kept us hungry, they told us that the restaurant was closed. At 21:30 at an all inclusive service to leave your tourists without food is unacceptable. Shameful. We are already sorry that we chose this hotel. I do not recommend this hotel at all because it does not respect its tourists

Bad experience on day one
We are currently guests at this hotel, and unfortunately our experience so far has been extremely disappointing.
We are a family of four and booked two rooms, each for one adult and one child. The first room has a serious leak from the ceiling. We are unsure whether it is coming from the air-conditioning unit or connected to the shower, although it seems to get considerably worse whenever the shower is used. We reported this to the hotel several times. Eventually, someone came to look at it, told us he would return, and simply never came back. The problem remains unresolved.
Our second room has another issue. Despite being booked for one adult and a 14-year-old child, it has only one bed. It is completely unreasonable to expect an adult and a teenage boy to share a bed, and we cannot understand why a twin room, or at the very least appropriate separate sleeping arrangements, was not provided.
We have raised both issues with reception several times and, so far, nothing meaningful has been done. What is particularly frustrating isn’t simply that problems have occurred — things can go wrong in any hotel — it’s the apparent lack of urgency or concern about resolving them.
There are positives. The pool is very good and the beach is lovely. Unfortunately, our experience of the accommodation itself has been very different. The rooms feel tired and poorly maintained, and based on what we’ve experienced so far, they appear to be in need of significant investment.
We came to Tunisia looking forward to a relaxing family holiday, not to spend our first day repeatedly chasing reception about a leaking ceiling and unsuitable sleeping arrangements.
As we are still at the hotel, I will update this review if and when these issues are resolved. However, based on our experience on our first day, I am extremely disappointed and concerned about what the rest of our stay will be like.

Hotel from hell
On day 2 of 14
If I could change hotels i would
Hotels is not the cleanest
Shower overflows the shower cubicle after about 2 mins
Maids takes the all the towels about 10am in morning don't return any till late teatime
Bed duvets thrown on chair and covers left on bed ( do that mean we have to put them on )
You have to get extra sugar at breakfast if you want a drink in your room
We had to get cups from other places as only one cup in the room and that was absolutely disgusting
You need ear plugs around the pool as music far too loud you can't have a conversation with your wife
MORE TOO FOLLOW AS WEEK GOES ON
