Don't be put off by some negative reviews, everyone's ideal is different.
I'd booked a sea view room, which meant the balcony was in shade most of day, and had a great sea breeze in the afternoons. although dated, it was spotlessly clean, and the cleaning staff kept it that way all week. Bed was changed daily along with the towels. There was sometimes 1 of the 3 lifts not working for a short while, but it's only 4/5 floors with wide, shallow stairs, so not a problem.
Food was excellent. Best AI I've had for years, lots of stations cooking fresh to order also. The freshly cooked flat breads at dinner service were excellent. Bar service could be slow at times, but wasn't a problem.
ALL the staff in the hotel were polite, helpful and friendly at all times.
The location was excellent, the pool and area cleaned twice daily. The beach did have seaweed washing up with tide, but every morning staff were raking it to the side ready for the day, with a digger arriving one morning after a windy night to clear it.
Yes, parts of the hotel are dated, and some of bathroom grout looking tired, but for the price paid it was a very enjoyable stay. I had no problems with staff being a single female, they were all very respectful. So good I'm returning next month with my husband.

Pleasant stay but upgrade needed
Spa - this needs work. Toilets in spa had no toilet seats or toilet roll. Masseuse was inexperienced. Room was cold and I had to ask her to put a towel on me. She had , had a little training but needs more. Massage was not a good standard and not particularly relaxing.
A breakfast was available when we left for an early flight which was a nice touch.

Good hotel with amazing location
Hotel is approx. 15 mins from Monastir Airport by car (taxi) and it's basically in city centre of Monastir. Walking distance to Ribat or Medina. So Location is perfect.
Food in Restaurant was amazing, they always offered also Tunisian food, which was always delicious and not as spicy as Tunisian do it . Food was always warm and they replace it very quick. Sometimes there was a queue, but it moved really fast. Waitress was friendly and always offering drinks.
Cleaner lady cleaned our room on daily basis, she remembered when we going either to the pool or to restaurant and she was usually coming around this time, when we are away.
People from reception was also helpful, we got some issue with air condition and they kept sending maintenance guy until the problem was solved.
The beach is basically on the step from pool. It's small, but the water is really clean.
All common areas around hallways or dining space was clean. The guys from bar was able to mix anything what you'd like to drink.
To sum up, we have been satisfied with cleanliness, food, location and staff. Definitely it worth to visit.

Avoid avoid avoid
The biggest issue by far is the air conditioning, which has not worked throughout our stay. After speaking to numerous other guests, it has become clear this isn't an isolated problem but affects many rooms. In the July heat, the rooms are unbearably hot, making it difficult to sleep and impossible to cool down. Despite repeated complaints from guests, there appears to be no urgency from the hotel to resolve the issue or communicate what is being done.
Our room was not prepared correctly for the number of guests staying. Essential bedding was missing on arrival and, despite repeatedly asking reception, it took **three days** before we were finally provided with pillowcases. This is a basic housekeeping standard that simply shouldn't happen.
Pool towels are advertised as being provided, yet they are regularly unavailable, leaving guests searching the hotel or waiting in the hope that some become available.
The hotel itself is very tired and in desperate need of investment. While it may well have deserved its four-star rating years ago, it feels as though very little money has been reinvested into maintaining the property. Fixtures and fittings are worn, dated and neglected throughout.
The pool area also raises concerns. The swimming pool is harbouring numerous insects and other creepy crawlies throughout the day, suggesting that maintenance is not at the standard you would expect. The pool ladder is heavily rusted and has broken away from the wall, presenting what appears to be a safety hazard.
The all-inclusive drinks service is equally disappointing. Soft drinks are dispensed into very small plastic cups, meaning you're constantly having to return for refills. Drinks are left sitting in direct sunlight for long periods before being served, making them warm before you even receive them. Despite the temperatures, ice is either unavailable or cannot be provided, making it impossible to enjoy a properly cold drink.
Attention to detail is lacking elsewhere too. Drinks are regularly served in chipped glasses, which is unacceptable from both a hygiene and safety perspective.
The most disappointing aspect is the complete lack of urgency in addressing any of these issues. Guests are repeatedly reporting the same problems, yet very little appears to change. The staff themselves are generally pleasant and polite, but they seem powerless to address the wider problems within the hotel.
Overall, this hotel is not deserving of its advertised four-star rating in its current condition. It may once have been an excellent hotel, but years of underinvestment are clearly evident. Until significant refurbishment takes place and basic facilities such as functioning air conditioning, adequate housekeeping and proper maintenance are prioritised, I would not recommend staying here. We have spent far too much of our family holiday reporting problems instead of enjoying the holiday we paid for.
