Breathtaking stay in Neptune's Realm
I had the pleasure of staying at Dar Evelyne on Thursday the 2nd of July 2026...
The owner himself took the time to help me park my car, help me with my luggages, to show me around in detail to begin with.fridge water ac bathroom Tv Wifi door locking Breakfast times...and asked us if we wanted to try a typical local fine dining restaurant with sea view...
Well this is what I call Palace service. and Ihave stayed for the last 35 years for 1000's of room nights in 5,4&3 Star Hotels on the 4 continent.
But a stay at Dar Evelyne can compare, for me as an old diver, to be washed ashore with fins and mask aounf the neck on James Bond Goldfinger Island or an arrival at the Ocean Club at the Bahamas.
If you are a passionate sailor skipper Captain Diver of all sorts you will adore this House. Every little detail has a story an eye catching flash refering to a sea detail. The combination of shapes, colors, living plants, and elements of decoration o all different types of materials is simply amazing!
neptune rides his sea charriot carried by horses, a turtle swims on the wall a whale jumps out of the water, a seagull passes by laughing at you, a mama cat meows at you and children laugh playing in the street.
You can sit on the terrace sipping your tea watching the sun go down, try the free wifi, read a book in the lounge, or enjoy surrounded by plants and calm in the middle of the patio, the jacuzzi king size .
The rooms are silenced, fresh, great lighting, with chimney(for the winter) and the matresses are top of the pops top notch. I worked these 3 last monthes straight 15 Hours per day.
This was my first night of rest, relaxation, recovery.
i slept for the first time straight 8 hours.
life was back. great Breafast arranged by Miss Daldoul, who asked after enquiring if all was fine and given the fact that I was a Seaman if I wanted to try Local fresh Sardines for Breakfast................
If this is not taking care of guests like royalty how do you want to call a stay like that???
I had booked a dive with their sister company, the Octopus Diving center;
the pick up was organised with 2 Vespa Scooters as the town center was invaded by th Friday market who zoomed through the crowd effortlesly.
At the center in the Harbor of Mahdia the Dive center very well equipped with brand new Mares equipment & very helpful personel, and directly to a WW2 Italian Shipwreck .
Waiting for us on the fast zodiac boat? 5 instructors for 4 guests...
Isn't this Top Vip Service? 1 hour underwater at 11 meters and water at 27°C, 20 sighted groopers, murena octopusses....
A pure walk on clouds, a promenade through an english garden, diving pleasure at it's best..Une vraie promenade de santé.
I can only recomend a stay and a dive with them. I have booked for next week another stay and hope they will have rooms a vailable for every time I visit their beautiful town.
Some people are lucky enough to live their dreams for a few times , a few have managed to make their dreams come true. I believe I met brilliant people who wanted us to share their dream.
I am convinced now I met them.

Top service, lovely place, great location.
Dar Evelyne is the kind of place you remember after your trip. The place is lovely, nicely decorated and well located. Breakfast comes with the rent. It’s beautifully presented and it has plenty of food. The best of Dar Evelyne is the service. Nejmedinne, the owner and manager of the Dar is terrific. He took the time to come and meet us in person and brought us to the place, he gave us a tour of the house and gave us plenty of tips for the rest of our trip. We truly appreciated this.

Great B&B in Borj Erras, Mahdia in an authentic renovated house in the old town
Dar Evelyne is a great B&B on the Borj Erras peninsula in Mahdia in a very beautiful authentic Tunisian house. Beautiful decorations, lovely roof terrace from where you can see the sea on two sides (peninsula) and have breakfast if desired. The host is extremely friendly and helpful and will do everything he can to make you happy. The lady who provides breakfast, a sister of the host, is most charming and prepares a really delicious breakfast for you. Nothing is too much for her. Bread, cake, yoghurt, fresh fruit, boiled egg, you name it. Everything is there for a great breakfast.
Most rooms have a shared bathroom, but I opted for a room with a bathroom. This was well furnished. Fortunately with a shower and not an awkward bath. A large bottle of water was ready in the room.
The many plants, paintings, typical Tunisian decorations, etc. etc. create a very homely impression. Small detail: all rooms have been given the name of one of the sisters.
The location is really perfect: very close to the sea, close to the medina and close to Place du Caire with its wonderful and romantic cafes with terraces. Another very authentic piece of Mahdia, far from the touristy all-inclusive hotels.

An unforgettable experience
Very bob service, clean house, We never forget the warm and tasty bread from Boutheina and the dream massage that Amel gave us. The family who runs the house made us feel at home and we will happily return to Dar Evelyne

open room and open mind
Great athmosphare in the House, were good cleaned, quiet, nice view from the roof, close to the center of Mahdia, breakfast very good, typical colors in the hole house and nice flowers, the host is worldclass
