Lovely place
Cosy, clean, kind, convenient. Gentleman Mike so helpful. Beach behind with nice shelter. Restaurant beside excellent

Made our trip
Excellent staff that didn’t feel like staff they felt like friends, New Year’s Eve was the best. Me and my friend were staying in Koh Phangan for 5 nights, unfortunately our journey from Koh Samui was in the torrential rain so the boat ferry although only about 25 mins long felt like a life time (the hangover probably didn’t help) when we got to KP the rain did not stop all we wanted to do was get to a bed and hot shower we had prebooked accommodation but when we got there we decided that the basic accommodation all though clean wasn’t what we wanted so we so we started looking up alternative accommodation and we found “Namthip homebeach” which was reasonably priced and looked more luxurious.
When we arrived we were met but the lovely Roxy and her partner. The name of the hotel has recently changed to the appt name of “mikasa” which is taken from the saying my house is your house.
We explained to roxy about our journey and that frankly we were being princesses on our short 2 week holiday, roxy showed us 2 types of rooms both beautiful air conned and clean but we opted for the slightly more expensive option with a sea view, TV and a bigger bathroom.
Mikasa doesnt have a pool but the sea is easily accessible along with a bar and restaurant. They have a variety of food choices which are all good and the chef is lovely. They also recommend to go see a lady called BoBo for all your trip needs who is hilarious and also did our New Year’s Eve neon paint (pictures).
They have 3 girl dogs that they adopted who were adorable.
On New Year’s Eve they put on a banquet for all the guests with wine, and all their staff joined us. It was nice to have great conversation from lots of different people from all walks of life.
All in all the room, food, views and people were amazing and we would definitely recommend and even plan to go back.

Such a lovely place!
Namthip has now been renamed as Mikasa as we found out on arrival but was still a wonderful stay! There was a mix up with bookings but the owner/managers couldn’t have done more to accommodate us, even put us up in the annex as part of their house! They were so welcoming, friendly and warm and made us feel so at home. Beautiful bungalows with a very nice, quiet bar which sells good food and cocktails at a very good price with a beautiful view of the beach which was just two steps away. Would definitely recommend staying here and will be back to visit again if we are around.

Best place ever!
I raccomand this place to everyone!!!!! the rooms are very comfortable and they are very close to the beach......the beach and the sea are unbelivable. The rooms are always clean and the staff is very niceand very available for each problem you have. Special thanks to roxy that she gave me not only support but a dream as well!!

Service and five star value
This spot is amazing - it was a fantastic place to stay for a few days while exploring Ko Phangan. The staff is the reason I'd come back. They're super nice, respectful and friendly. The facility is wonderful and it is in a great location in Baan Tai.
A few comments for the curious: 1) There are only a few reviews for this location on TripAdvisor because it tends to cater to non-american tourists. 2) There are bungalows with and without AC. Depending on the time of year you go - the non-AC bungalows can get incredibly hot. Check the weather and check your reservation in advance. 3) This property does not have much of a sandy beach. It is right on the water and the tides come in and out each day so at times there is no sand, and at times there may be 20 ft of sand. Because of the shallow becach, the water is warm!
