Room was clean and comfortable. Staffs are friendly. They provide breakfast, dessert time and super time. Which I think it's amazing. You won't be hungry for sure. It's good that they have selfseve laundry service, however there's only 1 unit of washer and dryer. You can change 10ntd with the staff. If you want to do your laundry, do it at odd time. So you have better chance to use it.

We stayed at Hotel East Taichung for our 3 day trip to Taichung in spring of 2026. The location is perfect, about 10 minutes walking from old Tainan train station. It is on the main street with good access to the key Taichung sights including Fourth Credit Union, Second Market and the Hong Rui Chen bakery. This made exploring very easy. Rooms were clean and staff were helpful. The amenities including snack time at 8-10 p.m., breakfast and dessert hour in the afternoon were excellent and included. Would stay again for a trip to Taichung.

Good hotel near the station

Good hotel, not far from the main station. Rooms are modernly decorated, clean and large enough to open the suitcases and walk around. Toilets are modern , with a good separate shower. The staff is just correct, but the hotel offers free filtered water, also free tea and ices all day long and a light dinner. Good option for visiting the sun and moon lake.

We stayed 3 nights in Executive room. The room was ok but oddly shaped and not particularly spacious. You couldn't walk all the way around the bed. The breakfast was poor with the type of set up up you find in a hostel and in a very cramped room. On the plus side they do provide complimentary snacks like dim sum, noodles and icecream pretty much all day through to 10pm. Staff were friendly and there is a very good and well priced on site massage facility. Location is also central. However, compared to hotels we stayed in in Tainan and Kaohsuing this was not great value as smallest room, worst breakfast and fewer facilities. You even had to pay to use the laundry machines when this was free at the other hotels.

Ok but over priced for room size and facilities

Liked the fact that this is a more individual style rather than corporate feel hotel. We booked an executive room. It was a reasonable size but bit of an odd shape and not large. Couldn't walk around the bed. Location is good and an excellent massage facility attached to hotel where you can a bit of a discount as a resident. Breakfast was poor. Not a great selection and very cramped space. No service. They do however, provide snacks, such as noodles, dim sum and ice cream most of the day and evening free of charge. Staff are friendly. I do think it was expensive though compared to hotels we stayed in at Tainan and Kaohsuing that were cheaper with bigger rooms, better breakfasts and facilities.
