Bed bugs and gastro

Bed bugs and gastrointestinal illness. If you wish to experience either, then book this hotel for your Mont Blanc hike.
One hand basin on our floor where you are expected to brush your teeth, do your laundry and clean your dishes. Black mould in the showers and food inedible.

Hostel to avoid -

Another hostel that does not live up to Swiss standards. Rooms clean, but shared bathrooms and showers badly in need of Reno and cramped. There were only two toilets on the entire floor, one marked for women part of the women’s shower room. This also included two showers with only a curtain, and no where to keep towels/ clothes but on hook outside shower drape. Despite this, men were in the room on several occasions, despite it being marked clearly.
Walls quite thin, and floors also of wood so lots of transmitted noise. No workable internet.
Dinner sit down, and did serve, soup and salad, plus main which was overcooked spaghetti. Served in bowls for whole table - can be an issue with some guests sharing unequally.

Clean and adequate lodge on the TMB

The hotel was clean and staff friendly. The dinner meal was ok and breakfast was nothing great. Shared bathrooms were challenging to navigate with so many other guests. They had a bar and outside seating area which was a nice place to enjoy a refreshing drink after a day of hiking.

Decent Spot in Trient

I booked a bed here because I needed a place to stay in Trient and I was put off by some weird payment requests from the auberge next door. The place isn't particularly fancy or anything, but it does what it needs to do. The girls working there were real nice and food was good (no matter how local and fun it may feel, don't get the fondue, order the curry instead). The common area downstairs is easily the best they have on offer, with big couches where you can sit and read a book at night once everyone has gone upstairs. Showers are best used as early as possible, as they're not the most private and you're likely gonna end up soaked from all the water spilled by previous guests if you wait until later in the day.
