A lovely hotel in a beautiful village

We spent 3 nights in this intimate hotel which is excellently located in the tranquil village of Sils, about 3 minutes walk from the bus stop and 10 minutes from the lake.
The room was on the small side but well furnished. The breakfast was brilliant! The hotel operates half board so evening meals are taken in the hotel. The food was lovely and varied but there is no choice [ allergies excepted]. The dining room overlooks a well kept garden in which one can sit during the day or after dinner.
The best thing about the hotel is the staff, each and every one was first class in their pleasant attitude and efficiency, but special mention to receptionist Baiba. She was continually welcoming and helpful both on providing information and in getting some first aid kit for me after I had fallen!

Lovely Hotel In A Lovely Place

A truly lovely hotel in a great location. We stayed for 2 nights this July for the first stage in my Switzerland trip. It is a charming hotel with a friendly and hospitable staff. The food and ambience for breakfast and dinner was excellent.

Top hotel with sensational cuisine in a traditional Engadine house

The Hotel Privata is easily accessible from the Sils-Posta bus station in 3 minutes on foot. It is a very well maintained house built in Engadine style. The house radiates a great warmth, not least because of the stone pine wood used. The rooms are very functional and very well equipped. The Privata team is very accommodating, friendly and you feel welcome as a guest at any time. The food is "to kneel down" good, very varied. At breakfast there is no wish left unfulfilled, egg specialties can be ordered additionally and are also included. Overall a very and without any restriction recommended hotel. We felt very comfortable and rarely experienced such a coherent hotel concept.

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful place - highly recommended

Hotel Privata is an absolutely excellent choice for a stay in Sils Maria. My husband and I stayed for a few days in July 2024 in a superior plus room.
The room facilities and view were very good and consistent with the ‘alpine style’ typical of the area.
During our stay the staff were very attentive and helpful. We had some excellent advice and recommendations from Baiba and the staff on the front desk about local activities, mountain excursions, valley walks and Nietzsche related spots in the area.
In our experience the quality of rooms and the service overall was much higher than its 3 stars. The dinner included in the half-board option was refined but simple with 4 delicious courses in a very pleasant dining room.
Sils Maria is a magical place to visit. We loved it and Hotel Privata so much so that we even extended our stay. It doesn’t get better than that…
A special thank you to Baiba, the reception team and the dinner staff for making our stay in Sils so pleasant and memorable - we will return!

Return visit to this lovely hotel

We were fortunate to be able to return to the lovely Privata this September. Our fourth floor room was perfect, with beautiful views of the town and surrounding mountains. Once again, I would like to thank the wonderful restaurant staff, Andrea, Giuseppe and, Susanna for making each incredible meal our favorite part of the day!
