Family-run hotel

A dog-friendly hotel with excellent cuisine. Centrally located with many shops in the immediate vicinity. Nice rooms with a hearty breakfast, and the day is saved.

We have been here several times and we always like it. The hotel is centrally located in the town. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The half-board menu is always delicious, varied and decorative. The wellness area is also an inviting place to relax.

Exceptionally friendly and very comfortable hotel, highly recommended

We stayed as a family of 3 with two dogs for 1 week in the hotel, using it as a base to visit the local area, enjoy plenty of hiking and easily get to different places in the Engadin.
Family run, the hotel is a 3 floor typical swiss hotel, with renovated bar and (some) dining areas, and in our case with room 207, a renovated room. Reasonably well sized, two bedrooms and bathroom , very clean and comfortable.
We took a mix of half Pension and al la carte dining and were never disappointed. All was well prepared, well presented and delicious. We only missed the offer of a salad in the half pension set up.
Located at the upper end of the village with outstanding access to the town, the hiking and 10 minute walk to the cable car.
A nice wellness area with Turkish style bath, sauna and other facilities, some free, some to be paid for.
Good breakfast Buffett, with local cheeses, breads, cereals etc. for those who like big cooked breakfast you may want a little more, but for most it is sufficient.
As for Samnaun in itself....the reputation as a duty free town is perhaps giving it a negative touch, it really is a quant little place, albeit with duty free stores everywhere. But if I want to hire and ski, no limit on options....it is more than a shopping area!
