Price performance is right!
Yes, this hotel meets that price/performance ratio. That staff exceeds it. friendly, helpful, nice, accommodating and morning a great breakfast , so the day can start. Even in bad weather conditions a treat.

Relaxing bike weekend in the warm South
Very helpful and friendly staff! Nice room with great views, comfortable beds. Fine breakfast with yogurt, Bircher muesli, muesli mixes, croissants and various rolls, cheese, meat, etc - enjoyed 2x outside on the terraceWe were allowed to use 2 mountain bikes 2 days free of charge.

Pension with lake view
Nice Pension above Locarno with access from the train station by cable car. The room was clean, functional (with a small kitchen) and comfortable. The balcony overlooking the lake was also pleasant. Only downside, there is no air conditioning and the temperatures were very high during our visit.

Catastrophic!
I am very disappointed with this hotel.
Cons:
-super restricted breakfast. For example, one morning, at 9:30, there were no more normal croissants and no one was filling the trash (see photo below). We waited a little while, we ended up leaving because no one was there and when we came back to the room, the housekeeper and the breakfast lady were doing our room when we had put the sign "do not disturb". Where is the mistake? I find that very confusing. Moreover, they said that I told them that they could make the room! No but where is the logic and in addition are completely wrong and culotted justifications!!
In addition, I could hear the cleaning lady making our room.
- there was rarely someone at the hotel reception when it says on the sign that there is someone every day from 09:00 to 18:00.
We only have one key for the couple, too bad.
It was 30 degrees in the room and no air conditioning. I let you imagine sleeping in these conditions and when we opened the window, a lot of noise and in addition there was a festival (Dimitri festival). We came home more exhausted than rested.
– no lift, which I find particularly unfortunate when you have a joint-related illness.
-the worst for last. The parking lot. A car next to us had parked very badly and we could barely park. So we went to notify the hotel and asked to arrange for us to return to our place. Nothing was done, the car remained as it was. We scratched our car and the badly parked car. We had a sighting and the presence of the Ticino police. Thank you for the service of a three star! I find that even if it is not a 4 or 5 star, a certain degree of presence and spirit must be indispensable. When asked why the necessary steps were not taken, the answer was: sorry. And no gesture was made in the invoice!! No ability to retain customers either, apparently.
Pros:
- bedding (with personal request to install a mattress pad).
I'm not going back to this hotel. I recommend the hotel city in locarno, it is a 3 star with a more than correct and respectable service!

Le matin, il y a toujours quelqu'un sur place pour le petit-déjeuner et nous aurions volontiers apporté quelque chose de plus.
Si vous faites savoir à la réception que votre chambre peut être nettoyée mais que vous retournez ensuite dans votre chambre, il nous est impossible de vous offrir un service.
En ce qui concerne l'ascenseur, il est clairement indiqué sur notre site internet que nous n'en disposons malheureusement pas. Pourtant, vous nous avez choisis.
Il y a beaucoup d'hôtels de qualité, nous en sommes sûrs, pour un prix élevé comme dans votre exemple.

If you go to this hotel, be aware that if you put the do not disturb sign at the door, maids may enter to do so.
At breakfast, at about 10 a.m., we sometimes ran out of butter croissants and there was no staff in the breakfast room or at the reception to fill the basket, whereas breakfast can take up to 10:30 a.m. If you are a coffee lover, you have the feeling to drink I don't know what but certainly not an Italian espresso, it is an automaton that can be found in some gas stations.
When you go to complain to Villa Orselina for any reason, we apologize. However, you are made to understand very politely that you are not in a superior 5 star. Which is the case, because we do not speak French at the Hotel La Barca Blu and you have to go to Villa Orselina which is a 5 star superior. Although indicated that there is a presence of 0900 - 1800 hours at Barca Blu, in 4 days this was not the case 2 days.
In case of high heat, there is no air conditioning, so you forget to sleep with the window closed, given the temperature even with the blinds closed, the traffic noise of the road does not help your sleep. The low-end fan does not attenuate noise.
Before leaving, I advise you to carefully control the bill presented to you.
