There is no better view of the lake and mountains!

The Alpes et Lac is ideally positioned for arriving by train. Directly across from the train station, the hotel overlooks the city and offers a fantastic view of the city, the lake, and the impressive mountain range of the Alps. From the train station, one can quickly get down to the city, the park, and the lake using the funicular, which runs every 5-6 minutes. The rooms are practical and modern. For our larger group, two dishes had to be selected for dinner; à la carte was unfortunately not possible. The food was good, the service a bit stressed, but acceptable. The breakfast buffet is not lavish, but it features good products. Attention: At breakfast on the wonderful terrace, the large seagulls steal the rolls from the plate as soon as one leaves the table to get more! We had a very pleasant stay and can recommend the Alpes et Lac.

Great location, beautiful room

We enjoyed staying in this beautiful hotel in Neuchâtel. We stayed in a gorgeous en spacious room in the annex of the hotel. We loved the room a lot, especially the small balcony with a view on the lake. Although I have to be honest: this room was not cheap.
The lady at check-in was very welcoming and helpful and gave us some tips about how to enjoy the harvest festivities in Neuchâtel. The location of the hotel is excellent, only a few meters away from the train station and a nice walk from the historical center.
The bathroom was very clean with an excellent shower and nice bath products. The beds were also excellent, with multiple cushions. Slept very well. The breakfast was in the main building, so we had to leave the annex to have breakfast. The breakfast was good with fresh salmon, yoghurt cheese, scrambled eggs and good bread, although I would have loved some extra warm options (sausages or bacon would have been nice).
Would definitely stay here again.

Just a few steps to the train station and the funicular.

We were surprised by the size of the room: it was difficult to move around with an open suitcase in the room. Storage space for clothes was also very limited. On our next visit, we will choose a different room category! Windows should not be opened in the evening, as one would otherwise be plagued by mosquitoes at night. The proximity to the train station is positive and crucial. We greatly enjoyed the large terrace for breakfast.

Bad experience

Room with lake view but especially view on a terrace in work with the noise and odor nuisances that go with it. Wake up at 8am for a mini excavator... The smell of diesel... No warning at the time of booking or price reduction accordingly. Not to mention the work in the street just outside the entrance...
Breakfast buffet just restocked...
We're not coming back...

I was not given a lake view. Instead I had a view of a large construction site and the Gare de Neuchatel. The room was clean, but for the price, I should have had a lake view. I am rather discontent overall of my stay here.
