NEVER AGAIN - ABSOLUTE IMPUDENCE
ABSOLUTE IMPUDENCE: Book a business trip via Booking.com - The hotel wants to charge 15.00 euros for issuing the invoice - even though the hotel is legally obligated to issue an invoice (§ 14 Para. 2 Sentence 2 No. 2 of the Value Added Tax Act (UStG)). I mentioned this in a friendly manner, then the owner screamed at me that there is only an invoice in exchange for a payment of 15.00 euros and hung up. NEVER NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!!

Poor Service, way too expensive and unfriendly
I sat with my girlfriend on the beautiful terrace and drank a milkshake, which costs 9.50 for a glass, which is in itself far too expensive for the poor quality. In addition, the operator of the restaurant is very unfriendly and no sign of Service. In the end we wanted to pay 19 euros for 2 milkshakes ), which is only possible cash. No information about this can be found anywhere... nor did the hotel operator show any insight that it would make sense to point this out to guests in advance. Paypal or bank transfer was also not accepted.
In the end, we had to leave a deposit and get cash. After I was back later and paid, I only got a receipt after active demand. Aha…
In summary: poor Service, very unfriendly much too high prices and poor quality. Once and never again...

Mixed feelings in Meersburg: Disappointing cafe experience
We were lured by the tempting "homemade cake with coffee for €6.50" offer, but our experience left us with mixed feelings. Although we expected a slightly higher price for our choice of an iced coffee and a latte macchiato, the overall quality was a disappointment.
The latte macchiato was more like a cappuccino, and the scoop of vanilla ice cream in my iced coffee unfortunately had ice crystals. The biggest disappointment was the "homemade" cake, which clearly seemed to be frozen rather than freshly baked. At €6 for a piece of this size (about 1/12), the price for frozen cake is far too high; it would only be justified if it were actually homemade. In total we paid €24.
Service in need of improvement
The Service also left much to be desired. Although we didn't witness any loud arguments, the staff seemed a bit strange. We had to ask five times to be allowed to pay, which unnecessarily lengthened our departure, especially if you are dependent on the last ship.
Overall recommendation
There is considerable room for improvement, particularly in the Quality of food and Service. We regret to say that one star is still too many; we cannot recommend this cafe. (We cannot make a statement about the hotel.)

Horrible hosts!
The location is good. The prices are high. The quality and cleanliness leave a lot to be desired.
But most importantly: the hosts (a married couple) are extremely unfriendly (especially the man). We were sometimes shouted at! And that for 150 euros for one night. I would recommend the Jufa in Meersbeug.

Nothing to write home about...
The hotel was in a great location - close to shops, restaurants, and the lake. It's a steep walk up, but it will connect the lower and upper regions of the town without having to walk up steps. It is on a BEAUTIFUL street with a view of the castle. Staff at the front desk and in the hotel restaurant speak limited English - which is fine, just be prepared for a little bit of a language barrier. We speak a little bit of German, but still had a very difficult time trying to understand their parking situation (even with a map). We ended up paying for parking for one night at the parking garage just to be sure. Our room was up 2 flights of stairs (no elevator). We had a family room (1 king bed, and 1 double bed, 1 bathroom). It was adequate and fit our needs. While it is no direct fault of the hotel, please be fair warned that there is a Musik Bar (Karaoke and Dance Bar) directly across the street from the hotel. We found the room to be a bit stuffy, and without being able to communicate that we needed a fan (even with a phone translation), we were left to open the windows to get a bit of a breeze. That was fine until about 10:00pm, and then the music started - and it went on and on. Apparently the place closes around 2:00am - however people spilled into the streets and kept up all kinds of racket until around 4:00am. With windows closed, ear plugs in, and a phone app running white noise, we were still unable to get rest. I assume this only happens on the weekends (we were there Friday and Saturday). We only had breakfast 1 day at the restaurant (8 euros per person including drink). It was adequate, but nothing to write home about. We chose to eat a bakery just down the street the next morning for around 15 euros for our family of 4. We would likely choose another hotel if we were to ever visit Meersburg again. Mostly because of the noise from outside of the hotel. We never heard or saw any other guests other than at breakfast.
