Relaxing course stay

Charming property and well-managed property

This is a charming property that is extremely well managed. Our room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the flower covered mountainside. Breakfast, which was included was excellent with a variety of local products (cheeses, preserves, honey) and the other meals that we triedin the restaurant were great too. It's a quiet, restful place with plenty of great hiking trails.

Hotel Ucliva is a charming property with hosts Dorothy and Bernard, who went out of their way to be helpful. On our way to the hotel, we ended up getting off at an incorrect train station in the middle of nowhere. Dorothy and Bernard responded to our call for help by coming down within 15 min (on their day off) to pick us up. The hotel itself is beautiful. Our room had a balcony overlooking the mountains (see attached pictures), and the breakfast, with a selection of local cheeses, jams and honey, was outstanding.

Perfect

Extremely warm and friendly welcome, with attentive staff always ready to assist. The managers are attentive and ensure the well-being of their guests. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, and very comfortable, just like the large outdoor terrace that provides a pleasant setting to relax. The establishment is an excellent starting point for many hikes. Regarding dining, the menus and dishes are simply excellent, prepared with care and showcasing quality products. A perfect stay, with not a single negative point to report.

A comfortable & quiet hotel

Hotel Uclava is at 1090m in Waltensburg, next to the chairlift to the ski area at 2400m. Owned by a cooperative of locals, the hotel dates from 1978 and offers 22 rooms over 2 buildings. Furnishings and decoration provide a relaxed atmosphere. There is a restaurant, a lounge with a wood fireplace & books, 2 children’s playrooms and a sauna. Service is friendly & helpful. We had a nice room with table & chair, club-chair, Nespresso & tea facility, good twin-bed with down duvets, wardrobe & safe, balcony with table & chairs, and no TV. We had a small bathroom with washbasin, toilet & shower. All was clean. A particularly good buffet breakfast is served: eggs made to order, cold cuts & cheeses, fleshly made orange juice, breads & toast, cereals & fruits, milk & yoghurts, juices & preserves, rolls & croissants, tea & coffee. Uclava is a comfortable & quiet hotel, and we had a pleasant stay. Highly recommended.
