New Year

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights over new year, it was a fabulous experience and we wished that we had stayed longer. This is a small boutique hotel, the team that work here give exceptional detail to service. They were notified ahead of my food requirements and made sure, that I never had to feel compromised on food choice. The food here, was the best of the 3 hotels that we stayed in. I really miss the Roti's, served with homemade passionfruit & papaya jam. Location was excellent, to the right of the hotel a short walk you can be in a busy street with street vendors etc. The beach accessible from the hotel, isn't suitable for swimming however a short walk to the right of the beach leads to a part that is. The pool area is very relaxing, we stayed in the King Coconut room that as a large terrace and also a Coconut tree growing through the ceiling in the bathroom! If you are in this part of Sri Lanka, stay here. We will if near this area, on our next visit.

A beautiful property with majestic views. Thank you to the staff (Suresh) for being so attentive and resourceful. I can’t wait to come back to South Sri Lanka

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at Coco Tangalle , we stayed in the King Coco room & it was an amazing space , large with our own private patio . Suresh looked after us during our stay & was very helpful . We would have liked to see a small refrigerator in our room & tea/coffee facilities however Suresh was very happy to place our wine in their fridge & serve it on request , he also bought us a pot of tea every morning .
Gorgeous restaurant & pool with staff always ready to assist , would happily stay again

Amazing staff, going above and beyond, and a beautiful location

Coco Tangalla is set in a beautiful location, in a little cove on the rocky shoreline. It is amazing listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore as you relax by the pool or enjoy the restaurant. I stayed there on my own for 6 nights and the staff looked after me so well. Whilst my room was perhaps a bit dated and not as spacious or with as many mod cons as other places I’ve stayed (that cost less), the setting of the room overlooking the sea and pool was amazing, and it was cosy for a single person. What really stand outs at Coco is the staff - unobtrusive but friendly, and the food, both at breakfast and at dinner time, was some of the best I’ve eaten in Sri Lanka. It’s a shame they only do a 3-course menu for dinner as otherwise I would have eaten there more often, but I couldn’t manage so much food every night. This did make it a bit more awkward as I didn’t want to go out on my own after dark, so instead I chose to eat at the little cafe opposite the hotel one night, or at some of the beach restaurants after spending the day at the beach, but the food was much better at the hotel. One of the staff was particularly helpful in helping me organise an airport transfer even after I’d left Coco and was staying at another hotel, the service really did go ‘above and beyond’ what you’d normally expect. Most days, I walked 8 minutes to the little beach by Turtle Landing/Crab Restaurant to enjoy some beach time - it’s not a long walk, but it could be a bit stressful as there’s no pavement, but it was vey convenient to have a lovely beach so nearby.
