Quite, wild and cozy

It was our best experience so far in Sri Lanka! The cottage is in the middle of the jungle and have the most relaxing view to the river. Thr room is cozy and the food and advices from Nihal are the best, (I miss him already ) , be aware that is an hour away from Siharaja rain forest but the location self is already very green and the air feels so pure , we canceled the excursion because we felt really comfortable already there but we took another short short tuc tuc trip to a beautiful temple on a mountain closer . I will definitely come back .

Creepy on several levels.

First, the positive: The location is nice, at least towards the terrace, behind the cottage is directly a road. That's it.
Our cabin was partly really adventurous furnished/maintained.A huge patch of moisture that spread under the air conditioning, closets in which were wonderfully disgusting dirty pillows and other debris (see pictures) and a whole ant people that inhabited the toilet and was also back after flushing away after an hour in self number. Also the loving paneling of the interior with regips plates was a highlight.
The way to the bathroom is not at night for the faint annoyed as there is an open passage between the bedroom and the bathroom into which everything can enter what wants. The bathroom ceiling is completely provided with wide gaps.
The sheets were really criminal damp/sticky.
I know that the humidity is high, however I have slept in X-like lodges around the world and that was not the case.Who knows if they will be washed at all or how long they lie there in advance. The dead beetle under the sheets screams for 'here I have been for a long time'.
What is really dangerous is the way from the cottage to the entrance gate (in which 3 battens are missing so that really everyone has access to the grounds). Here all lights are turned off in the evening. No more lighting.Any snake lying there you will not see and enjoy a bite.
What if there is an emergency? Then no one is on the premises because the really weird manager of the whole (budigga) doesn't even reply to a WhatsApp and lives a few streets away.He also gives you a really funny vibe.
You're really alone there.
And that on a dark street in the background. For anyone up to evil, the absolute invitation leads.
And what is also really reassuring: The double door that leads into the cottage can be easily pushed open even in the double locked state.
This thing would have had potential, but so we only stayed one instead of two nights because my companion didn't get an eyelid, since at night on the really smartly chosen tin roof is Rambazamba.
It's not worth the money at all.
On understanding after our long list of shortcomings, there was of course no discount and we were allowed to pay in full.
I wouldn't recommend anyone in 100 years.

Disgusting

We booked through Airbnb for €70 a night, double the average room rate in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival, it was a DISGUSTING place: the toilet and shower were terribly filthy, and the sheets were sticky (and yes, I'm taking Sri Lanka's humid climate into account). The food was cold, the roof was a noisy metal one and it was located close to a busy road.

Calming atmosphere

The place was really relaxing and comfortable and Nihal, the guy who’s looking after the place was super friendly and welcoming. Food was really good too. The only concern is that you’ve really gotta negotiate with the host to get transport arranged though they say that picking from Matara and dropping there is for free.

Cosy, genuine & relaxing

Bedda Eco Cottages is an amazing place for those who wanna escape the crowds of selfie-stick addicts and semi drunk hipsters that's trying to surf for the first time in Hikkaduwa. This place is highly recommended if you wanna experience some real Sri Lankan countryside lifestyle, culture and nature. A good Bungalow with nice view of a river + amazing food cooked by the friendly and fun gentlemen Nihal made our stay relaxing and rememberble. The owner is friendly, chill and a really good driver.
We took a tuktuk to check out a temple in the area which was just as amazing as the nature surrounding it.
The place is a bit from Sinharaja rain forest, but definitely worth checking out.
Will definitely come back again next time I visit Sri Lanka.
