Excellent Stay at Lavendish Wasgamuwa
We had a wonderful stay at Lavendish Wasgamuwa. The management and staff were absolutely excellent—friendly, welcoming, professional, and always ready to help.
The level of service was outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Their hospitality really made our experience special.

It’s a nope…
Very disappointed with this hotel. Admittedly, it is close to Wasgamuwa Park, but to go on the safari, you are much better off choosing a hotel further away, even if it means driving 2 hours back to get there in the evening. Our rooms were dirty (marks on the walls and doors), I had to have my daughters' sheets changed because they had bloodstains on them. My wife found lice in our bed. The bathrooms are worn out and dirty. Stray dogs everywhere, to the point that in the evening a security guard drives them away (or worse) with a rifle. The food was decent, but a lot of things were missing from the menu. The dining room reminded me of corporate cafeterias… fortunately, the staff improves the experience with their kindness, but once again, English is not mastered. In short, we will not be coming back.

Not recommended
The hotel is not maintained to any standard. The food quality is very poor and presentation is non existent. The service provided at the property is below standard and the rooms are not hygienic.

Don't spoil your vacation.
I booked online three weeks ago. I know all their rates there.
I went on a seven-hour trip from Colombo. As soon as I left, they told me how to get to the cottage. No one came. The car took a different route and got stuck. I got lost. Before booking, I had to take care of the cottage, it was a bit far & on a different route. Anyway, I turned around and came back to the hotel. I didn't go back because the car was under me. I took DBL FB 19,800/-. But I know that's not the rate. I stayed because I had no other option.
After going to the room, I went to take a shower. There was no water in the washroom.
Also, nothing that these people posted on FB is here. It's just a lie.
When we went to dinner at 7.30, the staff ate first, for the first time I saw the guests eat first. But there was nothing in the buffet that they said on FB. There was no night bonfire. There are a lot of staff but I don't know why they are there, no smile, they work for nothing.
Went to the pool in the morning, the pool is a mess. I asked them to clean it, but they didn't even care.
Went to breakfast, it wasn't worth it
The hotel didn't work for my wife, so we went to checkout. The cashier said that the bill for fullboard was over and nothing could be done. He said that he would give me a lunch parcel. I paid 19,800/- and didn't want to eat the parcel so I had lunch. A useless lunch. For dessert, they had ice cream & fruit salad.
I went to Kataragama last month and the service at lavender thamarind life is not even close.

Exelent service and very clean rooms.
Our stay at this Resort was amazing.
From making the booking to check out the services was very professional.
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable.
Special thanks to the Manager, Receptionist and well experienced safari jeep driver.
Will be back again for sure.
