Yala National Park

K Holiday in Tissa is a simple but friendly place to stay, the non A/C room was great.
Best thing is their jeep safari, our driver was absolutely brilliant and I recommend booking your trip with them even if not staying there.
The driver parked near a watering hole, one or two other jeeps stopped briefly and then drove away. He sat scanning the view. A crocodile popped its head out of the water and he spotted another one under the tree. He then saw a chameleon and two large lizards, his patience paid off.
When about 14/15 jeeps descended on the leopard, he manoeuvred us to get a great view but drove safely (unlike some others). Once we had seen the leopard / took photos, he moved back so other tourists could see also.
He was very knowledgeable about all the various birds / monkeys and the park itself, fantastic safari!

Unfriendly stuff

The room wasn’t in conditions and they didn’t give us what booking says . We made a complain and the owner shouted and kick us from the hostel with any reason . Horrible attitude , she doesn’t now recibe customers

Very convenient location

I have stayed there twice now. Owners are great they have own safari vehicle and make one feel very welcome.
Location is close to town 3 mins walk and close to banks and shops.
Secure location and rooms clean and comfortable.
On my list to stay there again on my next visit

***The worth hotel in Sri Lanka ***

Me and my boyfriend we book this hotel for 3 days , so we met the hotel owner at the property and everything was so cool
Guys please don't book this hotel they force you to book the yala safari with them if you stay in them property you should use them jeep for yala safari it's like a hotel law they will force you to do that very badly , we don't want the safari with them , it's so expensive than others ,(more then double price with usual price)disgusting this hotel and the people and we were treated as so bad during our stay only because we didn't use them safari
They gave us different breakfast with other guests and our breakfast was too late and tea with no sugar guys please they are devils please do not book this place

Cheep n cheerful

Rooms are basic but if you aren't looking for anything fancy they get the job done - they're clean, come with mosquito nets and the fan is good for keeping them cool. The lock is a bit hard to figure out plus the bathrooms smell rather bad but hey - you get what you pay for. Owners are lovely and it was because of them that I knew to go see the Poya Day parade, and they're not at all pushy about you taking their own safari.
Friendly suggestion: put up some mosquito screens on the bathroom windows
