* Fantastic room with a perfect river view *

*A dreamlike room with perfect views!*
We were very lucky to stay in this wonderful room/villa, which is located just 800 meters from the beach. A TUK TUK ride to the beach was always available on site. It was really the perfect place to escape everyday life. The view of the river was simply enchanting and made the room a very special retreat. It has such a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that we immediately felt at home. Everything was super clean and lovingly decorated. Every morning a delicious breakfast with freshly squeezed juice. The proximity to the beach was another plus – just wonderful! We really enjoyed our stay and would come back anytime. A real insider tip for those who love peace, wellness and nature. The Mahi Prabath family are wonderful hosts. Courteous, helpful and very close to the heart.

An outstandingly beautiful place and owners!

Mahi Villa in a great location, exceeded expectation, beautiful family owned spacious accommodation, Mahi, Ganga and their cute delightful 6 year old son Sandaru made you feel very welcomed indeed. Rooms were clean, we had a four poster bed which was extremely comfortable and a large bathroom. Our accommodation was at the rear of the property with a large balcony, table and chairs and even comfy sun loungers overlooking the Bentota River that backed up onto their pretty garden. Fantastic home cooked fresh meals were served daily on the sweet boat jetty, for the perfect romantic setting! At dawn I'd like to sit on the balcony and take in the stunning view whilst listening to the beautiful birds sing their joyous songs, and also a whole array of amazing wildlife. Ganga would also be awake, and appear offering a pot of tea! We also enjoyed the boat safari from the jetty, where we saw an abundance of wildlife including fruit bats in the lagoon, water monitors, birds, snakes, frogs and a huge 6ft crocodile and more!! definitely worthwhile doing! Visited the Turtle hatchery and the beautiful Bentota beach easily accessible and fun by TukTuk! We only had two nights here sadly, but was by far a favourite :) Thank you so much to Ganga and Mahi for making our stay so wonderful, give Sandaru a cuddle from me!

Lovely stay!

This was a lovely location overlooking Bentota river. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. They were so helpful and friendly, and made us feel at home. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a great view from the balcony.
Excellent value for money!

Really nice guesthouse where the owner goes above and beyond. Lovely room with lovely balcony overlooking the lagoon. You share the balcony with the next room. Some rooms face the street. Fridge in the room which we didn't expect. Lovely bedding, mosquito net. Really good breakfast. Tea, coffee, fresh fruit juice (homemade) fruit platter, toast and and omelette! We stayed 3 nights and ate here every night, good food. We also did their mangrove boat tour. We didn't ask the price and we thought it was a bit much at 2000 rupees for 2 hours, bit it was an excellent experience. The only downside is that your are a bit far away from the beach, but we sunbathed in the garden and watched the wildlife. Monitor lizards visited the garden, surreal. Husband has a travel agents so I'm pretty sure they'd arrange trips if you asked. If I was back in SR this would be my first port of call, so relaxing. The family take great pride in their guesthouse.

A memorable stay to cherish

A pleasant stay during our tour of sri lanka on 31 Aug. Breathtaking view and caring owner. Trully a visit to cherish and unforgetable experience. Swaying palm trees and gentle breeze is a sight not to be missed. The experience will always linger in our memories that makes us feel like staying home away from home-Arun Nitha
