Great evening and stay
We had driven past here and thought we would give it a go.
Exceeded all expectations in every way.
The owners and all staff were friendly and welcoming and the room we had was tastefully decorated and extremely clean. Comfortable bed and very peaceful.
The pub downstairs is very traditional and has a warm vibe, not like so many of the clinical and soulless pubs you often find.
Beer and wine were excellent and so were the meals my wife and I had. All at a very fair price too.
There was a bingo night when we stayed and although not something we would normally do we joined in and had a great evening. All the locals were very welcoming too.
Now on to the negative comments you may see online (we all check them out and form opinions)
The owners were very kind and welcoming, yes there is some dry humour thrown about,but go in with an open mind and without a chip on your shoulder and you will have a great time. They also can take a bit of stick back. Good to see some old school pub banter that is so lacking these days.
Shaun the dog is no problem at all.
We are not doggy people and are always a little wary of dogs in pubs.
He didn’t beg for food and was very friendly. He just wants to be your friend.
So ignore the people moaning about him.
All in all it was one of the best evenings we have had in a long time.
Thanks team we will be back when next in the area 10/10

We are so glad you had a good stay, we try and provid a welcome and warm place for all, yes we like to have a laugh with our customers but it’s not at there expense. Shaun and the whole team can’t wait to welcome you both back soon.
