sunday lunch stop

Great place staff all accommodating and helpful , good customer service skills . we booked online while travelling home from our camping trip . we arrived early , so went for a wander around the village. we were seated in the window once they opened up . but we did book a restaurant table online . but my in laws didn’t seem to mind but we had to close the window as the wasps kept coming in . my father in law specifically went to the bar to ask if he could replace the broccoli on his small roast with cauliflower cheese and was told that it was fine as they all come out in a dish together so he would have cauliflower cheese anyway . i ordered the veggie meal , which does come with cauliflower cheese. my husband had the large chicken roast which also comes with cauliflower cheese. my in laws but had small roasts. when they bought it out it was one small dish with shredded cabbage broccoli and a very small dish of cauliflower cheese . so i went up to the bar and asked is there another one coming out and was told no because the small roasts don’t come with cauliflower cheese. so my husband and i had shared what was supposed to be ours . mind you those dishes are usually for one person in most places not two let alone 4 . so when i pointed out to the lady behind the bar that my father in law had asked for it and was told yes. they did bring another dish out .thank you for that . my mother in law kept saying it should of had carrots they always have carrots with their roasts and parsnips . but apart that the meal was excellent and we ate everything. my husband and i had no room for pud but my in laws shared a pavlova . said it was delicious we will definatly be returning. inside and outside seating plenty of room but it is advisable to book . they even do take away roasts.

A wonderful Sunday lunch

We had pre-booked and on arrival a lovely table was set ready for us near to the bar. We had roast beef, which was delicious and came with crispy roasties, lots of veg and Yorkshires. A jug of extra gravy was also provided, which we really appreciated.
The Dorset apple cake was warmed and came with ice cream. It was excellent, as was our other desert, two flavours of ice cream which was beautifully presented and came with lovely wafers.
Portion sizes were perfect and service was brilliant. Prices were very reasonable.
A memorable meal. Thank you everyone - we will definitely be returning to The Hatch Inn when we are in the area again.

Very pleasant hotel for stop off on your journey

We stopped off on our way to Cornwall and on our way back home the staff were very polite and helpful, the food was very good and the steak Ale pie I can definitely recommend a hearty breakfast in the morning the establishment is in a quiet place only a few miles off the M5 the room was nicely decorated and spacious lovely big beds the landlady Claire and her husband were very nice and very helpful it is ideal if you want to stop off instead of a long drive through to Cornwall we are going to stay there with our grandchildren again in August would definitely recommend The Hatch Inn.

Friendly staff and a good breakfast!

Stopped here for an overnight stay, to break up a long drive to Devon. All the staff were very friendly and polite. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The cooked breakfast was great and there were a good selection of cereals. We had our dog with us and she was allowed everywhere.

Recent stay at the Hatch

We found this inn a fantastic place to stay with a great friendly atmosphere.
The room was lovely and the staff attentive. We had dinner the first night and breakfast the next morning and both were plentiful reasonably priced and delicious! We would highly recommend either stay or pop in for a meal or just a pint.
