A lovely hotel and pub with excellent food. A very large garden for eating outside and taking advantage of the sun. Yes, we had a sunny day! Our room was excellent and spotless. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Should we pass this way again we'd certainly make another booking.

Top notch food and service!

Stunning food, a beautiful setting and Restaurant. Various attentive service.. Harriet our server, went above and beyond making a very special meal for us!
Will certainly recommend and we’ll be going back again very soon.

Fantastic hotel, beautifully kept rooms with great bathroom, bed, TV and extras.
Loads of on-site parking.
Helpful and friendly staff.
Fabulous food and drink available.
Perfect location for doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks.

This place is brilliant. Tucked away in the middle of no where, is this gorgeous pub and restaurant. Lovely rooms, terric staff and pub food taken to top restaurant levels. Craft beers on tap with excellent choice.
Enjoyed 3 days but need to go back soon.

Yet again a disappointing experiance

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times but our last visit a few years ago was disappointing as the hotel had changed hands and the food was poor. We wanted to stay near Settle this time so I looked up hotels in the area and The Plough came up with good reviews so we tried it again. It had changed hands again but this time the food was good especially the breakfast. The staff were friendly so all looked good. Now the not so good, the room we had was over the front door and despite the hotel policy of the front door being closed at 10.30 with guests entering the back, on the Friday it remained open until about midnight as there was a large group of young men drinking outside. Unfortunately the front door was continually banging as they went in and out. The other issue was a very high step from the room into the bathroom. The main issue we had was the exorbitant cost of drinks. A large glass of New Zealand wine was £13 and later we discovered they added a 10% service charge when I settled the bill increasing the price to £14.30. Bearing in mind you could buy a bottle of the same wine in the local co-op for £10 and I am sure they would buy their wine a lot cheaper in bulk. Based on our experience we will not be staying again.
