I think it was ok.

Stayed here with Caledonian travel. Hotel was fine. A bit dated but that's expected. We paid for a Balcony room and were right above reception and opposite the lift. Beds were fine. The food was just right. Not too fancy and not too basic. And the service staff were fast and friendly. Nothing bad to say about any of them.
The cliff lift was not working and no busses run at the weekends so that walk nearly killed me. It was 3 hours for a taxi on a Saturday afternoon
I'd go back, even without the coach travel. it was good enough for us.

Needs alot of love and attention

This hotel could be a little gem if it was given the attention it deserves. I don't understand how a hotel in such a prime position could be left in such decline. It's coming up to peak season yet this hotel is badly in need of sprucing up and updating. Such a shame.

Dirty and not like photos

Location is fab, but hotel is dreadful. Room was dirty, shower area was disgusting, springs coming through in the beds. Our room did not look like any of the photos shown. Food cold and unappetising - we ate elsewhere. Appreciate that its a budget hotel but the cleanliness was 0/10. Food on the floor in the dining area stayed there for 4 days. Bar staff were good. Such a shame as with the location this hotel has real potential. Embarrassed for the travel companies using this hotel.

Nice hotel-- shame about the food

Reception good / room good / bar area good / meals poor & cold.
Best tip -- upgrade your room to overlooking beach & has balcony etc.
Restaurant -- all pre cooked meals -- chef or manager needs sorting --they let cold meals come out of kitchen --very very poor & lets the hotel down as everyone was complaining . They need to take their time to serve food not rush it out !!
would i go again --yes but defo NO food .

Awful

If looking forward to going to the Shanklin Beach Hotel for a well deserved holiday my advice is D'ONT GO!!!!! Stay at home if you cannot book anywhere else.
