Consistently Brilliant

We call into this pub at least once on every annual trip to Cornwall, and it never disappoints.
The atmosphere is always welcoming, with friendly, attentive staff who provide excellent service.
The food is consistently well presented, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. There was a great selection of starters, making it difficult to choose, but we eventually settled on the baked Camembert, which was more than enough to share between two.
For our mains, we both had the braised blade of beef, served piping hot and absolutely delicious. Tender, rich, and beautifully cooked.
The bill came to around £80 for one starter, two mains, two pints, and a medium glass of wine, which we felt offered good value given the quality of the food and service.
Another excellent visit, and we'll definitely be back in the next few weeks.

The best Carvery ever!!!

If you haven't had the Sunday Carvery, then why not???? Absolutely amazing food and lovely staff, very friendly and welcoming.

Fab cuisine but new dishes needed please

We've been eating here for the last 4 years, being our favourite restaurant in the area. The cuisine is delicious every time, beautifully prepared & seasoned perfectly. The staff are always very welcoming & friendly. The only reason I've given this 4* instead 5* is because we've tried everything on the menu numerous times over & sadly the menu doesn't change. Maybe some specials or new dishes could be implemented ... please!

If you want a good meal this is the place to go

I have been here twice now, both times on the off chance that they would have a table. Being on a main road I wasn't sure what to expect, but on both occasions we have all been pleasantly surprised. The standard of food is excellent, the décor is good and the staff are professional and achieve the right balance between giving you space and attending to the table when needed. The complimentary home made bread and nibbles are an added bonus. We all said we would go again.
