The host is a queen. Don’t bother looking at anywhere else, just book here!

We’ve been meaning to write this review for about eight months, but as a couple, we’ve endured a very tough time recently. It’s a pleasure to finally be writing this review and I’ve been smiling away reading everybody else’s. No surprises so many five star reviews…
Sharon who runs this place is the BEST host that both my boyfriend Euan and I have EVER come across in our lives.
Sharon rescued us as we were previously staying at dump the road (Celtic International hotel - DO NOT stay there!!!). From the minute we arrived at the Vale, we felt so welcomed and at home. After a traumatic night at the Celtic, Sharon’s kindness actually made me emotional. The whole place had a real cozy feel and the bedroom was lovely!
Sharon offered to make us dinner that night and we had the most gorgeous curry with rice, chips, naan bread, and mango chutney. This was by far the nicest home-cooked curry I EVER had in my life (pics attached). It was stunning and well worth the price. Euan and I spent the night chatting away with Sharon over drinks. She has the best stories and has had the most interesting life. We laughed so much.
We slept really well, and then we had a really lovely full cooked breakfast. All of this was about £100 (bed and breakfast). Worth every penny !
Our only regret was that we didn’t stay another night We didn’t want to leave!
We will absolutely be back and would never stay anywhere else if we were visiting Barry or Cardiff.
Thank you SO much Sharon - you are a truly unique and special lady and turned a bad stay at that hell hole The Celtic into something magical at your place We will never forget it. We are very sorry how long this has taken us to do the review.
Can’t wait to see you again and be so lucky to stay at your fabulous accommodation once again

Absolutely amazing

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this gem of a hotel before and after our flights. Sharon and her husband were amazing, so hospitable and friendly. The room was spotless and also had a fan which was very appreciative. We had great food that Sharon personally cooked which was delicious and the bar was well stocked too. We left feeling like we were hosted by friends. We would definitely book here again before a flight from Cardiff . Car parking is also available too

What a GEM

Well what can I say, truly wonderful hosts Sharon, Gerald and Christine made me feel so welcome as I was a solo traveller. I had a delicious home cooked meal in the evening which was huge!!! The rooms were modern and spotlessly clean with a modern walk in shower. The hotel is minutes away from Cardiff airport so ideal for a before or after your flight.
I will be definitely staying here again if flying from Cardiff airport. I had afternoon flights and the hosts very kindly dropped me off and picked me up on my return. They truly go above and beyond.
Thank you for making my stay so welcoming and wonderful!!!

Fantastic Venue & A Brilliant Host’s

We booked a private space at this amazing local hotel to celebrate my mum’s 50th birthday, and it exceeded expectations.
Everything was handled so professionally from start to finish. The room was spacious, clean, and set up perfectly, creating a great atmosphere for everyone to relax and enjoy the evening.
The Indian food was outstanding — full of flavour and loved by everyone — and there were great drinks and laughs all round.
A special mention to Sharon, who was so kind and a fantastic host. She really went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and made the night feel extra special.
Highly recommend for any celebration — we’ll definitely be back!
