Great dog friendly shepherds hut
Great peaceful location with stunning views. We stayed in the Bay Highland Shepherd’s Hut which has a gorgeous sumptuous bed.

Cute and unforgettable!
We had an amazing stay at Pentland Shepherd Hut. The hut was cosy, clean, and very well equipped, with beautiful views and a peaceful atmosphere. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature while still being close to Edinburgh. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. We especially loved the attention to detail and the unique experience of staying in a shepherd hut. We would definitely recommend it and would love to come back again! Kris and Eva

It's really really good!!!
Don't often give a 5 star as it needs to be perfect but indeed this little vacation was. I attended a one night stay in the Bay Highland and frankly I thought this hut must have the best view.
The huts and hot tubs and chairs/ tables are clearly all new. Huts look smaller on the outside but appear much bigger on the inside. The location is second to none. My wife and I sat in the hot tub whilst it was blowing a fair old bitter wind with a beautiful moon and clear sky and it was heaven.
The inside of the hut was spotless and everything had actually been thought off. The shower had great pressure. The cabin was cosy and furnishings really nice especially the bathroom toilet. Not having a TV wasn't an issue for one night. Don't know how people would feel staying for a week. I did notice a TV Ariel slot so it may be something the owners are looking at.
Bed was clean and fresh and I had a great sleep especially with the blinds open letting in the moonlight. Perhaps a few bigger bolster cushions could be made available for when your reading in bed.
The surrounding area had horses and goats nearby. Very friendly. Loved the security gate.
In the morning sat with a coffee in the warm sun with cold air. Fab!!!
So....would I come back?

A cosy place to stay in a fab location - we can’t wait to return!
We recently stayed in ‘The Shetland’ hut and we absolutely loved it! The booking process was excellent, the hosts were so friendly and helpful and we received lots of information via email beforehand which was great. The hut was very easy to find. It’s in the most tranquil and peaceful location with views across the hills with animals nearby - just perfect.
The hut had everything we needed - it’s so well designed, very comfortable and cosy plus it was spotless. The kitchen area had a small fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle and various pots/pans/utensils. There was also an ‘Everhot’ stove which can be used for heat or as an oven - so handy! The hosts also kindly left us some items like milk, tea, coffee, biscuits and fruit - so thoughtful and a lovely surprise!
There’s a gorgeous little fairy light lit tree outside each hut which was so cute and a fire pit and seats to sit out and take in the view. Unfortunately I was unwell when there so was unable to take advantage of the amazing hot tub situated outside the hut. It came with everything you need to set it up or you can pay a small fee for this to be done for you.
It felt so nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The hut had wifi but we found ourselves using the time to just relax and read our books - it was sheer bliss and just so comfy! The location is wonderful - nearby to lots of nice places to eat and drink and very close to Edinburgh. There looked to be various walking trails nearby too.
If you’re looking for somewhere to unwind - Pentland Shepherds Huts is the perfect choice. There are huts to accommodate 4 people and, with multiple huts on site, it would excellent for a larger group booking. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again in future - it was everything we’d hoped it would be and more. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable stay!

We went to the Penicuik shepherd huts and from start to finish was so accommodating and the family who run it are so kind and generous and friendly , the owner Simon actually went to the shop for us which we found very kind thank you so much for making this trip perfect was perfect getaway and my dog loved it too ❤️definitely coming back in summer
